Melissa,
Way to go, I'm really happy for you. I know what you mean it is a big deal. I want to join a gym so bad but we live in this little town and the to join a gym we would have to drive like 50 minutes to get to it. Give it all you've got Girl.
Take care,
Loni

I have lost 110 lbs so far. Only 10 more to go to reach 135.
I think my old picture is still on here. I really need to update it, I do not even look like this anymore.

I'm so excited. After a year of waiting, I finally joined a gym. This may not be a big deal to most of you, but I have been wanting to join a gym ever since I had this surgery. We didn't have the money, daycare was a problem and it just didn't happen. Now, the gym I wanted to join is having a big special and my family chipped in as a late Christmas present and got me a membership. My son has had a lot of health problems, but now the doctor said he is well enough to go to the daycare there. I have not done well and gained weight the last few months. I am hoping this will help me get back on track and lose the rest of my weight. I've been so disappointed in myself. I think this is the kick in the a$$ that I need right now. Yeah! I can't wait to get started at the gym. Wow, I never thought I would say those words!
Sorry for rambling. Just wanted to share and nobody but you guys would understand what this means to me.
Thanks!
Melissa
PS - Congratulations Ron!!
Topic: RE: Losing too much
You don't mention details of how much you're eating each day. How many calories? What breakdown of protein vs carbs? It sounds to me like you've not changed your diet tremendously from your WLS diet.
Have you added in more complex carbohydrates? Immediately after surgery we stick to lowered levels of carbs, but now that you have burned through your weight reserves, you need to add more carbohydrates in to support your metabolic needs.
How much exercising are you doing? If you're doing a lot of exercise, and continuing to lose, then obviously you're burning more calories than you are taking in. You may need to cut back in the quantity of exercise that you're doing.
I think talking with your dietitian would be a good idea so that they can give you information about transitioning to maintenance.
Hope this helps,
Sue O.
