it was so nice to lose those first big pounds and then it slows down. very frustrating.
I know how you feel.  lose weight ,,,,, stall for days ....... lose weight ........stall. It is all good in the end.

I haven't heard that about losing 10% of ur body weight. It kinda makes sense.

Thanks for the info.

Way to go!!!!  I know you were getting very frustrated with the stall.  I'm dreading the ones I know I'll get that go on for several months once I'm closer to my goal weight.  Ugh!!!

Celebrate with a nice, tall glass of water!  LOL

Keep up the great work!

Topic: RE: How long ya thin****il I can taste a bit of PIZZA?
At my first follow-up (at four weeks) the nutrionists and doctor said that I could try pizza but to absolutely avoid things like the pepperoni, sausage, hamburger, etc.  They are too salted, too high in fat and just plain not good.  Especially this early on.  They suggested a thin crust (to cut down on the carbs) and lots of veggies!  I think the issue with the regular crust, If I re-explain what they told us the right way.. lol... is that the regular crust is so "doughy".  That dough doesn't really break down well when we chew it so it goes into the pouch in a ball of sorts.  This can be difficult to digest.  The other problem is that the thick crust fills the pouch up way too fast and then we don't get in enough protein in that meal.  As we all know, that's bad!  lol

I had pizza this past weekend.  Our local store has a pizza that they put this really yummy seasoned chicken breast on with tomatoes, onions, green peppers.  (They also put on bacon but I have them remove that.  Had a bad episode earlier and I'm not ready to try again!  lol)  Anyhow.. I usually order it on their thin crust but have had the regular as well.

Anyhow... give it a little try and see how the pizza sits for you.  Some restaurants are even offering a whole wheat crust now which would pack a little more fiber.  I've not tried it yet but it's on my list!

Good luck!

So, I started out in a size 20/22. Right after surgery I had tried on a pair of jeans at Target in a 20. They were too tight to close. Today I was there again and grabbed a 20 and an 18. The 20's were huge, the 18's too big. I couldn't believe it! I didn't want to try the 16 because I was so happy that the 18's were big I didn't want to bring myself down (and I didn't really need new jeans anyway since I have about 8 different sizes sitting in my closet). Anyway, I am psyched. I have felt like I'm losing a lot slower than most but that really brings to light that I am actually losing!

I tried some last weekend for the first time. I ate about 1/2 the slice without a problem. I felt like I could eat more (well, maybe WANTED to is a better way to phrase it) but didn't want to jinx myself.

Hi Tom, congrats on your loss!
I think that it is hard to see your own weight loss, I sometimes wonder if I will always see a fat person in the mirror or if that will change in time, hmm who knows.
Anyway I am feeling better and still walking, doc doesn't want me to start exercising til March when I see him for my 3 month check.
You are doing great, keep up the good work!

I've been able to eat pizza (half a slice to a whole slice) and tolerate it really well. I'd say try a few bites and like the poster before said....chew chew chew!

You guys give me hope!  I'm not sure why we can tolerate crispy things and toast and wheat thins, but not a thin crisp pizza crust, but I think I will go for it one of these days.
