It is normal and I just came off my over 2 week stall. UP your water!! I am drinking between 80-100 oz a day. At first it made me gain a few pounds but now they are dropping again (knock on wood)!

Everyone has told me once you lose around 10% of your total body weight you will stall awhile but will continue to lose inches! Sure hope they are right!

Good luck everyone!

Allright, I can do that. Because it sounds much better than being frustrated at not losing.  Granted 250 isn't a bad number compared to 275. I think I will have my husband hide the scale tonight.

Meet the Surgeon Aug 1, 2011 .... hopefully the surgeons office is right and everything will go fast and I'll have surgery later this month.

I'm stalled too.  I had my RNY on 12/18/08.  I'm 6 weeks out today.  Lost 38 pounds and the scale has not moved in close to 3 weeks.  I can feel a big change in my clothing, so I know I'm losing inches, but I'd rather see it on the scale at this point.  It feels like it's never going to move again.  It's frustrating.  You are not alone.  I'm looking forward to my support group tonight.  I could use the support!  Hang in there.  Everyone says this is normal and it will move again soon.

and it's just no fun. I lost my 25 lbs and now I'm stuck at 250, they scale just doens't want to budge. Oh wait it did, it teased me around 4am this morning... got up to get a drink and said oh why not lets see how much I weigh. It must have been half on the bathroom rug, because it read 233.... what a tease that scale. 7am I got up with the kids, went to the bathroom then weighed myself again and there it was 250lbs. I liked the 233 better...

So now I am wondering how much longer this stall is going to last... it's been 2 weeks so far. I've exercised every night this week so far and I'm eating right.

How's everyone else doing?

Congrats on your 30lbs!  Have you tried making your oatmeal with skim instead of water?  If you use 3/4 C, it'll add like 6g protein I think. (Pretty sure 8g in a cup)  The few times I've made oatmeal, I make it that way, its always way too much for me to eat though.

Linda,

Be careful with thise drops in ur sugar. You know how dangerous that can be. asfar as the tube of glotose goes, it is only good for one thing. When u give it to a pt, they store it in theor cheeks until the medics wake them up and then they spit it out cuz it taste so nasty. lolol

I only bought the Lean Cuisines, South Beach, Smart Ones, etc. because they were on sale at my supermarket 4 for $10.00 with no limit. So, at $2.50 apiece, I thought "that's great!" I can't buy ingredients for lunch for that here in NYC, much less a HOT lunch. I bought 30.  Hoping for another sale next month :)   Today is cold and snowy and dreary here in NYC. I had a Lean Cuisine Baked Chicken for lunch, and it was great and warm in my tummy and 17g of protein. In an hour, I'll make a protein drink (Nectar Twisted Cherry + 4C Totally Light Lemonade  23g) which I will nurse until 5 PM.   I started the day (as I do every day) with Quaker Oats Weight Control oatmeal (7g protein). At 10 a.m. I had a Mozzarella cheese stick.  For dinner, I'll have a cup of chili and a SF popsicle for dessert later on while watching TV.

I've lost 30 lbs since my RNY on 12/9/08.

I have eaten those since surgery, and done the same thing - avoid the rice/pasta that sometimes is "filler" on those meals.  However, there are some South Beach and other low carb ones that seem to fit in better with our diet restrictions (and even the Lean Cuisines vary widely... many of those have higher protein and lower carbs than others).

But I do like to cook, and because my portion sizes are so small... I find that I eat leftovers for days when I cook from scratch!  So more leftovers = less Lean Cuisines for me.
