Topic: RE: Am I the only one eating Lean Cuisines, Healthy Choice, etc. for lunch at work everyday?
I haven't started back on the Lean Cuisine or WW meals, but I don't think that means you shouldn't. I used to eat those every day at work and sometimes for dinner since my husband works nights. Since surgery I've only had one, for dinner and it was fish, but I didn't eat the starch. It is a nice portion size and the amt of protein is so good in many of the choices. I saw South Beach individual pizza meals and got one - 30 G of protein, wow! Haven't tried it yet. For lunch I've been bringing mainly soup, or protein bar, something easy that I know will sit ok.
How much have you lost since surgery? The last week I haven't lost anything, am trying to keep a positive attitude, the weight seems to fall off in 2,3 4 pounds at a time.

No they were not sugar free, I did not check the sugar content and I did not have any problems with them no dumping or stomach cramping. They were a plain short bread cookie. I recently tried a Girl scout peanut butter cookie and did not have any dumping results either. I try to stay away from cookies but when my sugar level dropped I needed to take something. I am an EMT and sometimes, I can't get my snack so I just grabbed something that I thought did not have much sugar in it and something to bring my levels up.

Wait, you ate cookies? No problems digesting or dumping? Were they sugar free or anything?

Hi all. My RNY was 12/9/08. I am eating Lean Cuisines, Smart Ones, etc. for lunch almost every day at work. If there's something I shouldn't have, like rice, I only eat the chicken and vegetables. Some of these have, like 20g of protein in them! I know I need to watch the sodium content, etc. and I know not to eat things like the spaghetti and meatballs or lasagna etc. But I am keep everything down just fine, the portion size is perfect and I am still losing weight. Plus, I don't have to make anything for lunch - just nuke a tray. Am I the only one doing this?

Tom:
That is great you are down 30lbs. keep up the good work. The weight does seem to come of slowely, then all of a sudden you turn around and you will be down 50lbs. I have been at a plateau for 1 month now and that can be frustrating.
Having problem with my sugars dropping, I was at work the other night when my sugar dropped and you know being in the field, this is not a good thing, grabbed some cookies until the call I was on was over. Guess a little glucose tube would have been better! NAH that stuff is nasty. Like someone else said muscle mass weighs more so you are building up muscles instead of losing the pounds. Good Luck and keep losing.

I have eaten well-steamed broccoli crowns with no issues. No pain, no gas... broccoli is also one of my faves so I couldn't wait to have it again!
With that being said - I have tolerated most anything well. I have not had nausea at all since the surgery, nor have I lost my lunch. I've tried darn near everything, from fish, chicken, beef, steamed veggies, dairy, etc. without a problem.

My RNY was 12-22 as well. Cooked broccoli, and greens have gone down (and stayed) well. Fish not so good. Spinach not so good either, I miss my veggies***************.
