I had my rny 12/22 and have already had broccoli. Of course it was cooked well so it was soft. It was delicious and I had no problems with it. Good luck and enjoy.

Cooked broccoli is touch and go for me. Ehh... I don't know how much I'll be eating it now post-op because of this.

I have had cooked broccoli and steamed broccoli. went down better than some meat. I tend to eat fast except veggies, why I dunno?
It was very good. Gas? kinda hard to tell if it caused it. I am a regular gas factory.

I have had orange juice...as early as four weeks out...and I didn't have a problem with it. It was good.

I just had brocolli for dinner tonight. Two spears to be exact, and I had cheese sauce on them as well, and it was delicious. So far so good, and that was over an hour ago...I am pretty sure I have had brocolli earlier than tonight too. I have not had problems with it. I did hear that some people experience gas from brocolli, but so far so good for me.

Hey Tom - Congrats on being down 30 pounds, and even more props for exercising!
I'm at 7 weeks and have lost 30 as well. Seems like that's a popular number for those about as far out as we are.
Keep up the great work!

Topic: RE: First "Fill"
Hi,
For Lap Band folks, its when your surgeon injects a port that was placed in your abdomen area (during surgery) and it lies under the skin.and not really visible. Saline is injected in the port to make the band contract and become tighter around the stomach. The Lap Band works by tightening the area between the pouch and the lower stomach and decreasing the amount of food it takes to feel full and the time it takes to digest what has been eaten. Hope this explains? This "fill" process usally takes place about 6 to 8 weeks (depending on your surgeon) after surgery and after your stomach has healed from surgery.
