I never really liked fish before WLS, but now like it because it is one of the few things that doesn't bother my new stomach at all.  I don't know that I crave it, but I do enjoy it.  Except shrimp.  Still makes me sick at this point.  I can't wait for a few months to pass when I can eat food better.

Was anyone else told they had to skin everything to keep from covering the stomach outlet with the skin film?  I was told I would always have to skin almost all fruit, including grapes (I'd rather not even eat them in that case), as well as any vegetables such as tomatoes.  With a restriction like that, it makes it hard for me to want fruit.  I was told to also remove the thin membranes from oranges and such.  UGH!

I have been able to eat the little cups of manderine oranges for over a week now. I bought the ones with no sugar added. They keep the rule of less than 10 gms of sugar and less than 5 gms of fat by far. I was worried about the citric acid but the manderines don't have much of that and they are so refreshing and delicious. Try them. I love them.

I had RNY on 12/4 and have about 46 lbs. off but I've been gaining and loosing the same 3 lbs. since 1/4/2009.   So, I've stalled, too.

I had a banana with peanut butter (not on the recall list!) this morning for breakfast.  I think it was the yummiest think I've had since surgery (12-8).  It was the smallest banana I could find (5", maybe) and 2 T pb.  YAY!

I've also had no sugar added applesauce, and pears in their own juice.  Haven't had any trouble yet.  Knock on wood.

It's almost three weeks and I am still stalled.  I started work yesterday and can start swimming again next week.  Hopefully things will start moving again.

Make this!! I made 1/2 a recipe when I was on mushies and froze portions. I am eating the last of it RIGHT NOW. It is so good! Thank you Eggface~!

Shelly's Cheesy Cauliflower Casserole

4 cups Cauliflower, steamed
4 Tbs. Butter, divided use
1/4 cup Flour
1/2 tsp. Dry Mustard
1 tsp. Salt
1/4 tsp. Pepper
3 cups Milk
3/4 pound Sharp Cheddar Cheese (3 cups)
1/4 cup Bread Crumbs (optional)

Steam cauliflower set aside. Melt 3 tablespoons butter, blend in flour & seasonings. Add milk. Coo****il thickened, stirring constantly. Stir in cheese; pour over steamed cauliflower and mix till combined. Top with optional crumbs mixed with remaining 1 tablespoons of butter. Bake at 375 for 30 minutes or until golden brown.

You can add cooked ground chicken, turkey or beef to this too. Throw your portion in the Black & Decker Mini Chopper Food Processor and whiz away.

I don't feel different at all having lost 46 since October. I thought for sure I'd be full of energy, my back and knees wouldn't be so achey, but it's just not the case. I hope I don't have to wait much longer to start feeling an improvement physically.

I should try Salmon again. I hated it before surgery, but liked other white fish. (course my fave was beer batter, guess we'll have to find another way to cook fish)

Yep, but in my case it is cooked carrots!

Enjoy it!
