Topic: Anyone craved food that they previously hated?
I craved fish for a whole week and finally, my third week diet allowed me to have fish. I ate salmon and I loved it. Keep in mind that I hated any kind of fish before my surgery. WEIRD HUH! I think it is the best tasting thing I have been able to eat so far. I am a little over three weeks out and I have yet to eat something that  disagrees with my pouch. Everything is going down fine. I am making the transition to semi-solid foods. I had a whole week where the scale did not move but now it is moving again. I have had really good luck with my pouch.
Anyone else craved food that they previously hated?

Ok...hate you guys...not really, but man, you are killin' me...I LOVE fruit...and even though my surgery was 12/2...my nut still has it on the "Do not eat" list...

I wish you guys all the success...I find that picturing something that weighs what I've lost does help...I keep picturing me lifting 25 lbs of dog food...It's amazing you can lose all that and not feel so different...I know, in the past, I've really only started feeling different at 50 lbs...Anyway, I really appreciate all your support, and when I feel discouraged, I will think of you guys and say a little prayer that you are doing well....

Yep -- I had my surgery on 12/17 and I've only lost 20lbs...but you know what?  I'LL TAKE IT!!  I know that the weight will come off when it wants to come off and if it comes off slowly, I figure my skin will have time to shrink and I won't be so saggy!  Go pick up a 20 lb bag of dog food.  Seriously.  Relish every pound you've lost so far!

I had RNY on 12/10

During my liquid fast I lost 15lbs putting me at 230lbs the day of surgery.

When I left the hospital, I had gained ALL of the 15 lbs back because they pumped me full of liquids.

I lost the 15lbs in a few days (but I don't could that in my loss)

As of Saturday I weighed 219 :( I am doing worse than the rest of you.

That is only 11 pounds.

(I lost 130 lbs before my surgery and I think that may have something to do with my slow weight loss)

Safeway has a really nice brand of fruit (peaches and fruit ****tail) that is packed in juice with Splenda.  I think the can said "eating right" on it.  I don't know if it is a Safeway brand or just one that was carried there.  It kind of had a generic look to it.  It was really good.  Peaches were really good.  I will be 5 weeks out on Thursday and have been eating it for the last 2 weeks.  I don't like cottage cheese, so I haven't had that.  Good luck!

Just take whatever time you need to rest.  I kinda felt guilty for resting because I almost felt like I was still being the lazy person I was before surgery but you've gotta do what you gotta do to get better, right?!!?

I hope you are doing better now.......it's hard but so worth it!!!

I think your reply helped me the most...Thanks so much...A lot of times this site is perfect to get advice on how to do better, but sometimes, even when you are doing all you can, you still don't seem to make progress and you get discouraged...It helps SOOOOOO much to have someone just say, "I'm in the same place you are, and I feel the same way."  I can't tell you how much your encouragement means to me...I wish you all the best and will pray for your continued success...Thanks again!
