Topic: RE: Lap Banders - how long til you went back to work?
Thanks for your post! The holidays were helpful because I felt well rested going into my surgery on the 6th! I started work after 1 week, but did some half-days working at home which was helpful. My doctor note would go up to 2 weeks, but now that I am at my 2 week bandiversary that option is over!
Topic: RE: 1 month but have not lost enough
My doc told me the same thing. Not losing enough weight. I had rny 12-12-08 and have lost 30 pounds and they told me im eating to much and should have lost at least 30 pounds the first 4 weeks so i found a BETTER support group and they said everyone loses weight differently and anything is better than it was the month before. Dont beat yourself up because we can only do what we can do and the heck with the docs that say it isnt good enough!!!

Real soon you'll move to: Chili, a pint of shrimp and lobster sauce from local Chinese takeout, a shrimp ring from the supermarket (chew well), tuna salad and, chicken salad which have sustained me. I got through the pureed stage by eating alot of split pea soup too and pureed chicken breast with melted cheese. Don't cry. You'll get there. My RNY was 12/9/08.
Topic: RE: Im hungry!!!
I was the same way at first. I ate pudding allot. At two weeks i was told to go ahead and eat foods i wanted, just not to introduce to many new foods at the same time.
Topic: RE: Fruit?
My RNY was 12/9/08. I have had: apple slices, fresh pineapple chunks, cantaloupe, watermelon, grapes and mango slices. No problems. I can't bring myself to eat canned fruit when fresh is so great. I am also wary of the sugary syrups, even with the "lite" variety. As long as you don't have more than 2 - 3 of anything, you should be ok. It's a nice "dessert".
Topic: RE: WTH? The scale is moving... UP!!!

You might want to double check with your NUT but I was cleared to have soft fruit and canned fruit after 3 weeks. Of course it needs to be in light syrup or natural juices. I just bought some today in fact. I didn't realize they now have canned fruit in EXTRA light syrup. That might even be better. I know Libby makes fruit that has no sugar added and it is sweetened with splenda. I'm trying that this week. YUM!
Topic: Fruit?
I am a huge fruit lover and I am now four weeks out and would love to try some, but I am so worried about it! I still get the dry heaves in the mornings (I wake up with them, even before I eat/drink anything!) So I hate that! I was thinking about taking some canned fruit in lite syrup, washing them in water to get as much of the syrup off as possible and then mixing in small amounts with cottage cheese. What do ya'll think? Should I give it a try or is it something that I should really stay away from?
