Your weight loss is awesome!  But you really need to increase your water.  You'll break your stall and lose weight faster.  I know it is hard, trust me I do, but you've got to to be healthy.

I was on a stall for over two weeks.  It freaked me out being so early out but I had lost a little before surgery so it made sense.  My doc said to expect stalls occasionally, and they often occured when a person has lost about 10%of their body weight.   My first stall was at 11% total body weight lost, so it made it believable.

And stop comparing yourself to others.  I know it's hard, but if your just looking at peoples signatures you could be way off base.  Nothing says that someone's signature captures weight loss from day of surgery.  They most likely include total weight loss which could include a 6-month pre-op diet or a 2-week  liquid pre-op diet.

Just keep doing what your surgeon or NUT suggest and you'll be OK.

I weighed 313 pounds on December 1, 2008 the day of my RNY surgery and have lost 81%
of my excess body weight to-date.                                        Current as of November 1, 2009
OH Mini-Challenge Goal for New Year's Day is 170 pounds. 11 pounds to go!

Topic: I feel like a truck ran me over!
Last night I was fine until dinner.  I made chicken legs, and they turned out very juicy.  So I cut a few pieces off and ate them very slowly, figuring I would be fine as they were so juicy.  WRONG!

I stopped eating because I got an uncomfortably full feeling a few bites into dinner (3-4 small bites of chicken).  I tried walking, laying down, nothing.  So finally I threw up.  Then I continued to throw up over the next 2 1/2 hours, about 6 more times.  I was concerned b/c I wasn't keeping water down.  So at 8:15 pm I called my surgeon's after hours number and he said that since I was RNY and not a band, it wasn't that big of a deal if something got a little stuck.  It would work its way through eventually.  He said to stop drinking or eating (like I could even think of that) for 3-5 hours, then try a few sips of water, and by the morning I should be feeling better.  That with vomiting, the stomach gets irritated and swollen.

Around 8:30 I had a pretty bad vomit, but it was finally more than water, so I am guessing it was the last of my dinner.  And I finally felt a little better.  At 12:30 am I got up to get a sip of water and went back to bed.  This morning I am much better (I was in REAL bad shape last night), and had planned to do soft foods today, but all I want is clear liquids.  So I am going to do clear liquids for a day, then try soft foods and work my way back from there.  I just can't believe how bad I still feel today!

Just wanted to share my story and what I learned from the doctor with all of you.

And I am supposed to go back to work on Monday!  UGH!  By the way, I am a type I diabetic, so that tends to complicate things too, like I have to run my blood sugar high when I am vomiting because if I don't I have no way to fix a low blood sugar since I can't keep anything down.  Some days life really stinks ...

Thanks everyone!  You've saved me from a major panic attack!

on the good news front... I finally, just yesterday, met my caloric and protein goal for the day!  1232 calories and 65 g protein!  Now, I need to get my fluids up there too!!

Thanks to everyone for the support. I KNOW you are right and I will really try not to weigh myself every day!!!

Thanks to all of you...sometimes, I think we just need a little encouragement....saw my dr about 2 weeks ago...he said I was doing ok...and I will try and keep in mind that some of the numbers include pre-surgery weight loss...that helps...my nut asked me to try to keep the protein at 50-60...which I usually beat....Just wanted to say how much I appreciate having you guys to pick me up (figuratively....don't won't anyone getting a hernia)...I feel so much better....
