Topic: Struggling with protein 1 month post op
Is anyone else still struggling with the protein this far out? I can't tolerate the milky sweet supplements. I am trying the nectar flavors now but am primarily getting all  my protein from these and beans. Please give me a little insight. Thanks

I checked my measurements on Monday and compared them to my pre-op measurements.  There is definitely a difference.  I am still stalled.  I think I had too much dairy yesterday, so my weight was up a bit.

Topic: RE: Back to solid food... weight loss stalls?
I have been in the infamous 2 week stall for 1 1/2 weeks now.  I am focusing on staying on plan with liquids and protein and trying to move around the house more.  I took measurements on Monday and compared them with the pre-op measurements and there are definitely differences.

Hang in there again!

Topic: RE: 11 days out, only 9 pounds gone
I was 10 pounds heavier after the hospital than before.  I even heard of someone who gained 30 pounds while in the hospital.  So, if you gained weight in the hospital, you are down that weight, plus the nine pounds you already lost.

Hang in there.  Be happy it is going down.  I am in the infamous 2 week stall for 1 1/2 weeks now.

Also check your measurements.  They most likely are going down too,

Topic: RE: Im hungry!!!
You might want to avoid Boost and regular Slim-Fast.  They may be too high in sugar.  I know my Dr doesn't allow Boost post surgery because it is too sugary.  I found when I had a diet that was too surgary (mine was from a lot of fresh fruit), I would be ravenously hungry and nothing seemed to help the hunger.  Also, SF jello can cause sugar cravings, since it is sweetened with aspartame (Equal).

Topic: RE: BM's? Kinda gross but gotta know...
I had diarrhea almost every day starting two days after surgery to seven days after surgery.  The seventh day, I had bloody bm's which caused me to faint on my kitchen floor and put me back in the hospital for two days.  It took 3-4 more days (after I added pureed chili into my diet) and I started having more normal BM's.  Mostly once a day, but I did skip a day at least once.

I had an appointment with my surgeon last Friday.  I was asked if I had BM at least every 2 or 3 days. I said yes and was told it was good.  I think the problem would be if you are constipated and just can't go.   We sleeves are encouraged to supplement with fiber.  I am not sure about other surgeries.

Topic: RE: WTH? The scale is moving... UP!!!
Don't be discouraged.  Are you weighing yourself daily?  If so, stop it!  It could be water weight or maybe you need to poop?  Could it be retained water due to your monthly cycle?  Or your body is just making some adjustments.  I did the same thing.  Now, I weigh on Sunday mornings.  Did you measure yourself when you began this journey?  If not, measure youself now.  I've found that inches are coming off when pounds are not.  Are you doing any walking?  When I started a small 20 minute per day walk, things got moving.   Now, 30 minutes workouts most days of the week are helping.

Topic: A new protein recipe for coffee lovers
Well maybe this isn't new... but it's new to me!

I mixed scoop of Synthax Nectar Cappucino protein powder with a cup of skim milk.  Then, I added a dash of vanilla extract and then I poured about 1/3 of container of chocolate icecream LaBrada Lean Body protein premade protein drink and mixed.

Yum yum.  Tastes like a mocha chill kind of drink.  Enjoy!
