Topic: RE: Back to solid food... weight loss stalls?
Don't freak.
Same thing happened to me last week. I had 0 pounds lost in 3 days. Checked the scale 2 days later, down 1 pound. Checked again 2 days, 2 more gone. It's going to be a temporary thing, you can't NOT lose weight with RNY :-) I know it's frustrating though. Lets hope we have a nice weight loss before the next pause in the pounds coming off.

I heard that plateaus are normal. I hit my first this week but I'm not worried. i have upped my food intake as well. I wouldn't worry to much unless you stall for over a month. I don't think there is anything you can do when you stall but keep on doing what you been doing.

Mine seemed to be surrounded by a substance that is as you describe it. Mine are very small compared to before surgery. I agree with the others that is likely because we aren't eating hardly anything.
I think I've also developed a lactose intolerance. I'm testing my theory now because it was SO painful to go and I would vomit with each wave of pain. So... the last two BMs have been okay now that I'm not drinking milk. Looks like I might be on to something!!

I've read several times here on OH that your body can not lose weight and inches at the same time. Everyone I've seen swears that when they hit a "plateau" that's when they begin to lose inches instead of the pounds. I've also heard to UP UP your protein and UP UP your liquid intake. Lower the carbs. I think I'm hitting my first plateau now (I'm 3 weeks yesterday) so I'll see if it holds any truth! LOL But, I haven't taken any measurements. I'm just not into it.
Good luck! You'll get through this!

I am four weeks post op, and now on semi-solid foods (soft protein, steamed veggies, etc.)
How is it possible that I haven't lost a single pound in the last week????
Just a rant. I know I'm barely getting in 600 calories a day and I can't figure out how I could hit my second plateau so soon. Yes - I've already weathered one...

I'm about the same. Since we're talking poop, mine are really odd since surgery. Sort of a light yellow, always look the same. Sort of odd looking texture too, kind of billowing or cottony. Anyone else have the same?
