Boy, Sybul, you've had a rough week! So sorry to hear about your MIL, but it sounds like a blessing. I'm sure you were there for her many times during her life.
Please take care to rehydrate and get better. Seven pounds in such a short time....eeeeeeekkkkkk!

Topic: Clarification on Dr Baker's rules about carbonation
Last week at the general support group meeting, a man and woman asked about being able to drink diet soda post op as long as it was clear, ie diet spirte 7up, etc. This info came to them during the conference call with the dietitian. Of course, Lauren and I jumped onto this with both feet! We KNOW Dr Baker's stance is firm on this, so how did this info get to them?
Well, Lauren called Baker's office and there has been some miss communication.
DR BAKER FORBIDS CARBONATED BEVERAGES OF ANY KIND....FOREVER!

Topic: Thursday What's New Review
Now that we know there are people out there who check this board, lets try to keep it going.
Support, such as you find on a site like this, has been proven to increase your likelyhood of success by 77%(in addition to "live" support groups). Many of you are too far away to attend our monthly meetings at Baptist, but that doesn't mean you can't get good and useful info here.
So....how are you doing in your weight loss journey? Any questions, issues, problems or WOW moments you want to share? Are you a newbie who is struggling with food suggestions? Do you have exercise questions? Do you need a swift kick in the buttocks to get back on track?
I'm very active on the Over Fifty Forum and they have a wonderful support system that is judgement free and a safe place to go for support. For example, there is a woman there who, after being gone from the OFF board for about 18 months, has come back, desperate for help. She has gained 34 lbs back, mostly from drinking TWO BOTTLES OF WINE A DAY. Now, we're not saying we're mental health professionals, by any means, but we can offer her encouragement and support while she's dealing with this crisis.
This is what we are here for folks! So, instead of me coming on here and chatting up about my life at work, etc., let's move toward helping each other on their journies?
Here's the question....HOW ARE YOU DOING TODAY???

Oh....I am jealous! Not really!
I had a ring neck parrot for several years and I loved him. I taught him to say lots of stuff and even wolf whistle! He also picked up things from my niece and nephew like...Grandmaaaaaaaaaaaa. He would say that and everyone would bust out laughing.
As Susan said though, they are a lot of trouble and I don't think I would want another one.

I hope you knocked 'em dead yesterday! Gotta give us the details!!
Topic: RE: BCBS of Arkansas
My son works for BCAR and told me a month ago or so they no longer cover ANY WLS. That's not to say that if she has an existing policy they wouldn't cover it under those terms. They're just going to have to contact them and find out.

I'm soooooooooo jealous!!! I've always wanted a ****atoo, they're so beautiful and loving. We use to go to this big exotic bird store in San Diego and just cuddle with them for an hour or so to get our "fix".
We had a Pocket Parrot for 14 years and it about killed me when he died. Still, I wouldn't have another one, they are so much work. Besides, I think Baxter would eat it!!!
