Topic: When is the Walk from Obesity this year?
I haven't been around so I have missed any info that may have been posted.  I haven't recieved anything in the mail yet, so I was wondering if anyone has any info on it.

I had so much fun last year that I def. want to do it again this year, and my sister and niece as well.  I want to get started early on raising money since I really didn't earn much last year (less than 10 bucks, not much I know).

Topic: RE: Weekend edition----What's happening??
I'm not doing anything this weekend.  Last week I bought some TaoBo tapes, and one of them is for over 40, I'm not even close to 40, but the slower and easier workouts will help me get back up to doing the regular TaoBo I was doing before surgery while on the liquid diet.  Plus it is not as hard on my back.

I started going to the chiropractor again, 3 times a week.  This one did x-rays and tests on me and found that my hip is crooked slightly.  And my sacrum (its above by the ****yx) is off from the rest of my spine, and that was probably caused from when I was overweight for so many years.  So it does seem that I am paying for letting my body get so big.  But I would rather be fit and healthy even if I have to take pain pills all day then be overweight not knowing if I am going to die in my sleep from all my co-morbidities.  :)

I am trying to get off this final 50 lbs, all year long, my weight hasn't changed (but a few lbs up and down) since last year.  I am approaching my 2 year post-op mark, and it flew by quicker than the first year.  I have some regrets for this last year, I wish I would have worked out more and tried harder to get this 50lbs off.  But better late than never.  I do think though that part of this 50lbs is fat and skin and I do know that I may not be able to get it off totally with exercise and that I am looking into lipo but not skin removal yet, because I want to start a family before I pay buckos out of pocket to tighten everything and put it all back in its proper place LOL.

Another day of hanging around recuperating. If I feel up to it, I might ride along with Gary to Hot Springs later this morning. We'll see.

I lost 6lbs overnight. Don't you just love fluid retention after surgery?  Even knowing it will happens I still freak out. Gotta get a grip!

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

FYI----the Over 50 Forum had over 70 postings to their What's Happening thread yesterday.  Sure wish we could be that active here.

Love ya all

That's a great goal, and one that I'm sure you can achieve!

No.....no wrestling fans in this house so you won't have us to compete with for those front row seats!

Hey friends,
Life here has been on a roller coaster this week. Tuesday I went to a grant writing workshop, learned ALOT, and am excited about helping write grants to improve our little community.  I am on our DASH team (Dallas County Supporting Health) and I work hard to promote being healthy and we found several grants to help do that.

I found out last week that my job is ending in August, and so I was kinda stressing over what I was gonna do, Ive gotten to like that extra $1k a month, so I signed up to be a substitute teacher in Fordyce Schools, and to be honest, Im EXCITED about it.  I love kiddos and cant have my own, so now I get to give back to the community and play w/kids!!!  And get paid at the same time.  Another perk is that if I work enough, I will qualify for teacher retirement, even as a sub.  Woo Hoo!!

Glad you are doing ok Sus, but DONT over do, like Im sure you already have!!

We have a horse show tomorrow, at our club, so that means for me, work from 10:30 till 10 minutes before I ride, then ride, and back to work, but its worth it.  Only 2 more shows before I come to Little Rock on Labor Day weekend to show.  Thats my weekend, Sunday is church and then Monday is back to work for a few more weeks.

Everyone have fun and be safe.
Love you all,
Rhonda D., who is NO LONGER job hunting!!!

Steve, I can hear the pride in your daughter when you tell us about your time together on the course. Good for you....and for her, too!

Just popping in.  I think it's time for me to go back to bed.

Later, Dude

Gee, Ann, you know me pretty well, don't you?  I have probably done too much, just a stubborn old fool, I guess. But, I'm eating 1/2 of an egg salad sandwich and checking in here, then it's back to bed. Promise!

Sounds like you're going to have a really fun weekend. You'll have to tell us all about the concert.

Thanks for being here!

Topic: RE: Calcium woes...help!
As usual, ya'll are wonderful!!! How in the world would anyone get through post-WLS without a support group like this?!?!

Please nobody hollar at me, but as I've said in meetings, I have a VERY tough time getting all of my "pills" down...so I don't take many at all.  I take a Centrum multi-vitamin every morning and every evening, and I'll try spacing my citrucal petites out throughout the day.  I get B-12 injections every other week, and haven't had  my levels checked recently 'cause I haven't had time due to my work schedule.  I love Vemma but have slacked off of it the past month due to the expense.

I eat LOTS of cheese and yogurt, so hopefully I'm getting a little more calcium from those sources.  I'll add an iron supplement and try sneaking it down in the middle of the night with a sip of water.

Lord love you Susan, Wendy, and Wendy #2...and everyone else as well!!!  I've learned so much from all of you that no amount of book-reading or internet searching could ever cover!
