Hello and welcome to the losers bench! Facey Medical (on Sepulveda Blvd. in Mission Hills) has a support group meeting twice a month (2nd & 4th Wednesdays) although I'm not sure if they'll have one next week the day before Thanksgiving. You don't need to be a Facey patient to attend the meetings. Please let me know if you need more information. All the best to you as you begin this incredible journey.

D,

So glad the 3 of you will be there.  A couple of bakeries I can think of is of course Safeway on Clayton and Denkinger (about 3 blocks or so from the house) or if you're looking for something a little fancier, there is Sweet Affair in Walnut Creek on Ygnacio Valley Road or Alpine Bakery in Concord on Clayton Road.  Those are the few I know of.  Hope that helps.

Hugs to all and Happy Thanksgiving.

Thanks for your response.  I do have an appointment with my surgeon tomorrow.  I will talk to him about it.

I had kaiser as well, the 10% is not that hard to do. Really if you follow their program it sets you up for post op success. Did you take the "mindful eating" classes ? or is that not offered in the east bay?
Hope to see you at the NOR Cal event, it's a great group of people

I had all sorts of issue the first month that made it hard to get my fluids and protein in. I'm not sure if I'd call them a problem with swallowing but I couldn't drink a lot at a time without it getting backed up, for example.

I also forgot how to swallow pills. (Took me until about 2 months out to remember how!)

Normally  you want to see yourself getting gradually better though. Any setbacks are a good reason to call your doctor's office.

I had the RNY gastric bypass on 10/28/11.  I have in the last few days, started having problems swallowing anything.  Has anyone else experienced this? I have my follow up appointment with my surgeon tomorrow but wanted some input from peers.  Please advise.

I went through S San Fran, but all the info they have for Vallejo is outdated.  Vacaville, they told me it was for those 6 months out who need help getting back on track, and trying to locate it - the people had me running ALL over the freaking place.  After 20 mins of running around I was furious.
