Congrats on getting a date Tammy. The drain isn't that bad. You will do fine, You will find that you get into a routine. I made myself a chart/schedule of things I had to do/take each day to make it less overwhelming.

Before you know it, the weight will be falling off and the 1st few weeks will be a blur.

Congratulations on moving forward on your revision. (I've been a lurker, not a poster - but I have been following your journey).

I am on my last day of my 2 week optifast. I must say it's been a challenge - and I did add salad as I couldn't deal with just the optifast.

My revision surgery is Tuesday, 9/22. I'm a bit scared but looking forward to it. And as you said - a bit sad too. "Losing" will be very excting, but it also means a variey of losses that are hard to imagine. But.... I really can't wait to get over the surgery on Tuesday and move onto the next step.

Good luck to you!

So I start the two week liquid diet (optifast) on 9/23 - then a two day bowel prep on 10/7 and 10/8 and 10/9 is the day! I still don't have insurance approval yet - I think they're submitting it either Friday or sometime next week.....I still have to go for another blood test - Dr. Raftopolous is incredibly thorough that's for sure! I'm anxious, scared, excited, sad - you know the whole roller coaster ride of emotions......I am grossed out by the thought of coming home with a drain to be emptied twice a day - I felt queezy when Andrea was reviewing it. I am overwhelmed by all the information - when to take what - I have to give myself blood thinner injections for 10 days after I get home from the hospital - anyway - I won't go on and on....Inspiration from those who have gone before me is greatly welcome and appreciated!
Warm Regards - Tammy -

I agree with emah. I would call and tell them you want to see Dr. T. and not Peter. I have heard nothing but good things about your Dr. I can't believe he would feel this way.

I shall now be know as Hagatha: Queen of the queens.

Sorry to hear about your experience, but here is what I would do. Firstly, I have to wonder if this assistant Peter was being honest with you about Dr. Tishlers words and  how he feels about the situation.Could it have been Peter mouthing off his own opinions and putting the blame on the Dr.  Either way it was wrong. I would call the office up and insist on speaking with Dr. Tishler directly and tell him how poorly you were treated. If in fact this was all Peters doing, I would think the Dr. would want to be aware of how his staff treats patients.  If you get nowhere with this attempt, I would contact Hartford Hospital and lodge a complaint. Since Dr. Tishler runs the bariatric program there, I am sure they would want to know how patients are being treated by somebody *****presents their hospital. If you get no satisfaction yet, there is always the CT Medical Board. There is absolutely no reason for you to have been treated so poorly.
Meanwhile I hope you find  a doctor that will help you. My own doctor was Dr. Aranow, and unfortunately I have not seen him in a long time for a variety of reasons.Perhaps it would be beneficial to contact his office and set up an appointment with him.
Good Luck.
