Hi,

I'm sorry to hear about your terrible experience with Dr. Tischler.  That behavior was very unprofessional!

I would recommend Dr. Ionnis Raftopolous.  He is the Bariatric program director at St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center.  He's a great guy and really cares about his patients.  His phone number is:  860-714-7128.

Best of luck to you!

Topic: hello
Hello everyone. Been a really long time since i have been on here. I need some help! You see I had my surgery 06! I was doing very well. Untill I had my 1st foot surgery, then my 2nd foot surgery really messed things up! I developed servier R.S.D.  ( servier  nerve damage) was on bed rest for a really long time! I now need to walk with a cane or a walker! Well before I went in for my last foot surgery i had a bronchitits  infection! The infection blocked my lapband port so badly I could swollow my own spit!. So the E.R had to remove all my saline frome the port( was mostly air and mucus) Anyway I had my last foot surgury in Feb this year. So finally in May I said ok now that i cant do anything more with my nerve disease. I can start over with my band. Well I made an appointment with Dr. Tishler. I explaned what I been going though these long months on the phone. Well I go there all happy about finally getting to start over. He sent in his assistant Peter! He was so rude! Nasty! He said Dr. Tishler called me a failure! That all I do is gain wieght! I tried to explain how much hell I was going though! He kept on interupting me! Said no excuses! I mDWE THE MISTAKE OF NOT HAVING A WITNESS TO HIS UNPROFESSONALISM! When I left the office I had to call a friend to come get me! He had me crying in the parking lot for 2hrs!! He kept on saying this was how Dr. Tishler felt! I called there office to report the abusive unprofessionalism . I never  heard back for them! All I want is to find a new Dr. that has professionalism, bedside mannerism, and respect for what we as patients go though, I mean come on! I havent been able to get out of bed for months, had infection after infection! To call me a failure! How dare he! He shouldnt have a JOB!!! I'm so sorry this is so long! But I live in East Hartford, CT. I'm so despreate to reclaim my life! I know i cant ever get rid of this horrible R>S>D. but i need to reclaim my wieght control again! Please if anyone could help me??? Thank YOU  so very much!!! My dear brothers and sisters for life:)

SORRY..I DIDN'T REALIZE THIS COPIED ALL JUMBLED...I FIXED IT..

Need A Fresh Start? Weight loss and maintenance is extremely difficult, even with the help of bariatric surgery. Many patients find that they return to previous eating habits and behaviors, only to see the scale heading in the wrong direction. This can be incredibly frustrating, but we can help!! The Center for Behavioral Health at Middlesex Hospital is starting the “Fresh Start" program. This is a series of groups for those bariatric patients who have completed surgery and have regained some or all of their lost weight. Information will be given on a variety of topics, including managing emotional eating, making behavioral changes, and dealing with body image issues, and plenty of time will be given for group discussion.  The group will meet on the following dates and will be led by Kim Daniels, Psy.D.:      ¨     September 23rd -October 7th and 21st ¨November 4th and 18th ¨December 2nd     The group will meet from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at Middlesex Hospital (rooms will be determined) You must attend each group, as the topics build upon one another. The cost of the group is $20 per session, with the requirement that you pay up front.      **Contact Kim at 358-8760 or [email protected] to sign up ** ***Your attendance will be held strictly confidential***       Fresh Start, Middlesex Hospital, Center for Behavioral Health, Outpatient

This is SO cool!  I hope that the doctor can tell the two of you apart during surgery!  You'll have to write in medical marker across your belly's what your names are!

I wish you both an uneventful surgery with little to no pain in recovery and and hear, hear to two BIG LOSER!!

Keep us all posted!

Paula
