I am doing the traditional DS. My surgeon is Dr Higa in Fresno. He is the one that did my gastric bypass. I started a liquid diet yesterday preparing for the surgery on the 30th. I am looking forward to the long term goal.
I have to admit I am not looking forward to the post up pain. Although I know that it wasn't that bad with the gastric bypass it's just in my head. I'm trying to prep and have clear liquids with proteins so my husband can help me when I am not feeling up to it. It's retraining my head and my stomach LOL

Thanks for the encouragement! I already have a date for my surgery and I plan on keeping my eye on the long-term goal!

Thank you for letting me know I'm not alone. I plan to be intentional this time around. I really Believe that it will take the support of others to keep me going in addition to making myself exercise. That's probably one of my biggest downfalls. Asking for help and exercising?

I suppose we could encourage each other to stay on track. Thank you for reaching out!

I'm so happy to hear this! I got my band about 12 years ago, but removed all restriction a lil after a year or so afterwards. I'm excited to get back on this journey!

In Oct 2012 I had my crap band removed, hiatal hernia repaired and the DS. BEST decision ever. I've maintained over 100 lost since with very little effort.

I take my vits and get my protien in. Very happy.

There are more than a few of us pushing or past 20 years.

Thank you so much for your input. Im really nervous and excited to move forward with the DS. I'm also pleased to hear it's been around a while. I had never heard of it until recently but after reading many posts, there are several 10yr+ DS vets.

Please keep us posted on your progress. I also had the gastric bypass and now 11 yrs later weigh more than before. I moved right after the bypass across the country so i had no follow up or support.I hope you are well my friend.
