My father, myself and my husband are all patients of Dr. Jawad. I can not say anything negative about this man or his people. I also had a revision to my RNY last year (my fault totally). And he was amazing. I also like that he calls back if there is an issue no matter the time and his staff is accommodating. I had my original surgery in 2007 and that was in Ocala and mt revision last year in Orlando. He is constantly listening to his patients and making adjustments when needed to give us a better level of comfort and expertise.

Congrats on the move! Port Orange is wonderful area!!  I do most of my shopping up there.  I still drive over to Oviedo area for my Primary car Dr so I can't recommend anyone close to you.  Have you found a support group there yet?  Otherwise maybe just call around, as long as you have the right blood work done on a regular basis and are having no issues you should be fine.  Like most of us that had WLS we are our own advocate and usually more knowledgeable that most when it comes to our bodies.  Good luck!

Thank you for the advice. I think I will try to wait and stay and have it done here since I am so close....I was just trying to leave now, plus u say it's even hard to get state Medicaid as an adult.

Thanks!

Your best bet would probably be to call and speak with a medicaid rep at 1-866-762-2237.

If you are almost through the process in KY I, personally, would do everything possible to stay in KY until after the surgery. The process in FL can be rough and it is hard to even qualify for medicaid down here. That is a whole other set of headaches.

What are the requirements to get approved. Im moving from KY and already went throgh the process here but I have to move before my surgery. I had to do 6 months weight management documentation from my doctor and a behavioral health form. So can someone tell me what the requirements are. Also I currently have KY medicaid and Im hoping I can comtinue to get it in Florida.

hello people,

I live in Ky and have KY medicaid. I have went throgh the whole process that is required here, but I believe I am going to have to move from this state and come down to Florida. I was wondering is it hard to get the surgery done there, plus I have all the requiremnts based on what KY ask for (which is a lot).

So I guess my question would be 1. will they take what I already have (as fas as paperwork)? and do they take medicaid for the bypass surgery?

Im moving down within the next couple of months and just wanted to get some understading.

Thanks for your time!

I really can't relate. I haven't had a problem with them calling me back, in fact just the opposite is true, in my case anyway. I had to have a colonscopy, and Kathern Kirkman called me to continue the process before i even new the results. Try calling and talking with her directly. Congrads on a surgery date and I know everything will go Great for you!
