Congratulations! I also have Aetna (as a federal employee) and was told they do not have such a lengthy process as other insurance companies. I see Dr. Macik again on 3/7/11 to hopefully begin my 3-month supervised weight loss. All of my other "hoops to jump through" e.g. psychologist & nutritionist visits, have been completed. I'm glad you had such good success with Aetna!

Dr. Delnostro was my PCP when I lived in Savannah. I loved his practice. I am not sure if they are still there anymore.
I cannot help with a bariatric surgeon there. I am currently up in the Atlanta area.
You might want to try and find doctors associated with Memorial Medical University. It has become the top facility there in the last few years. That is attributed to it becoming a learning/teaching facility.
