This should be the first thing you do!

Especially if you are having surgery with Duncan, Champion,  Maynard, or Borrowes.

Sure, a surgon can have a jaded past and overcome it, but he was cutting on me, I definitely would want to address what he has done to improve his skills.

If you have another option for wls with  a surgeon with a clean record, why even take the risk?

Just a thought for pre-ops to ponder...

Just my opinion... but I think we produce more acid after surgery, especially with the RNY... If memory serves me I think the acid is produced in the top part of the stomach so with your pouch you may be having more acid in a smaller area.  I was taking Omeprozole once a day before surgery I now have to take it twice, morning and night.

Hope this helps,

Lynne

Dr. Hixson's practice is Peachtree Surgical Associates.

Dr. Duncan's practice is Peachtree Bariatrics.  Dr. Hobson and Dr. Jean-Pierre work with him.  The website also indicates that a fellow named Dr. Karleena (sp?) Tuggle is with them too.

I believe both practices are on different floors in the same building.

Appears you may be right, they have different addresses, but I did think they were workign in the same office at one point???

Pulled Dr. Hixon's Medical Review Board report and 3 settlements are showing. Nothing other than that showing.

Pre-ops really should utalize the medical review board and internet to check for malpractice suits, patient  complaints, etc.

link to his review board records: https://www.gaphysicianprofile.org/profile.ShowProfileAction .action?lic_nbr=037233

His practice is listed as Peachtree Surgical. Maybe that's a different practice?

Maybe someone can clear this up for us. May make a difference in someone choosing a particular surgeon.

Any Dr. Hixon patients out there?
