medicaid hellllll

ok I am venting!!! My husband had quit his job because he was robbed at gunpoint. (I made him) Now his job he got we make 700.00 less amonth. I went to the public aid office to see if I could get the link card to help. Not only did not give me answer I just got aletter today saying I no longer have my card as of aug 1st. I am trippin I am in the process of having surgery sooner hopefully then in 2 years and now I might not even have insurance!!!!! How is this possible when i am making 700.00 less a month my husband makes min wage and we are a family of 4 with 1 income and to top it off he works in mo so min wage is 5.25 an hour. Man I am so upset i am shaking just had to vent. I am apealing this notice and I have to call my case worker tuesday. I also went online and I am trying to apply for family care. I just hope what ever happens I can still have my surgery...Then I can get a job and help with the bills.

So sorry to hear this....I would call the Springfield and ask why this can be and explain as you have here to them....I don't understand this either....Also while on the phone ask to appeal the decision......... let them tell you how to go about it...maybe going through them there will get things done faster,then your local office....G'luck hun...

I called springfield the min I got the letter and appealed. I now have to wait till the hearing but untill then i still have my card. I also called my office and my caseworker has been on vacation till monday so they dais to call tuesday. I also applied on line for family care which goes by how much you make. So I am determined not to let this chance pass me by...I will have this surgery no matter what! thanks for the encouragement. Sorry about my spelling.

They probably made a mistake. I have heard about this type of thing before. Just make sure you stay on them for the appeal and hopefully you will get this taken care of before Aug 1st. Good luck!! Government sucks!!

Make sure your case worker did everything right. Right before my surgery, I was up for redetermination and when I turned everything in, I got a letter stating had to meet a $2500/mo spend down before they would cover me, which I knew was crazy. That was more than I made in a month. I called the supervisor at the office and they were able to find the error and fix it. Don't give up just yet. Hang in there. Shelley

First Shelly you look so great!!!!!!! @nd I have called MR moore My caseworker in granite everyday this week and he has not called me back. I am staying at my sisters because we have no electricity and I left her number and cell and he still wont call me. I have been trying to get the link card because we are having trouble paying bill and buying groceries. I applyed on june 30th and I still have not gotton a responce. He wont answer my calls. man I am pissed!!! say a paryer for me so I don't go postal..

Thanks. He is the one that I had problems with too. Call and ask to speak with a supervisor. I don't know how far you will get this week with all our power issues but maybe try on Monday and see if you can get a supervisor and tell them what is going on and have them look into it immediately. He was a real ass. I think I got him in trouble over the whole ordeal with me, infact they gave me a new case worker after that. I will keep you in my prayers. Just say a huge prayer for us that we all get some power back soon and all our lives can get back to normal. Shelley
