Here is a link to a question that another person posted on this board and the info that I responded to for the person. It has a lot of links in it for places to see. http://www.obesityhelp.com/forums/IL/postdetail/28103.html?vc=0 As far as White Castle burgers, I think that you will be disappointed in them after you having In 'N Out burgers. White Castle's are real greasy, so be careful. They gave me the trots even before surgery years ago. Enjoy your time here. Where are you staying at, Downtown or in the 'burbs? Maybe some people can get together if time permits for all. I think that you may enjoy the Han**** observatory better than Sears Tower. The Han**** is almost on the lake front right over Navy Pier, to me it is a better view. August can be still very hot and humid here, all the way through a good part of September. Jus****ch weather.com or weather.gov for the local forcast. Put in zip code 60606 for downtown. Be aware that the weather is different in the Chicago suburbs than in downtown, it can be hotter west of the lakefront, especially if there is an eastern wind off of the lake. Chicago pizza is the best in the country. I have tried pizza in many places and the crust is the best here, crispy and thin. Deep dish is ok, but too much for me now. Enjoy your time here, have fun. Ask if you have more questions. Chris

Nadine, Everyone has already mentioned places to visit, foods to eat, and weather but I'd like to add that one thing you need to know about the weather here....is to dress in layers...no matter what time of year. There is a running joke around here that if you don't like the weather, wait a minute, if you still don't like it, wait another minute. It is so inconsistant and no matter what the weather man predicts...more than likely it'll change before the end of the week. One of the attractions I'd like to mention is Second City. Some of the best comedians in the world come from that stage. http://www.secondcity.com/ Enjoy your stay!!!

yes, garratts popcorn, chicago deep dish pizza, I used to like white castles not anymore since surgery, shopping downtown, the lakefront, the shed aquarium, millenium park, the botanical gardens, all kinds of stuff to do downtown.. just make sure you bring a light jacket or sweater and bring tank tops too! The weather can be strange here. 60 degrees one minute and 90 another! Also if you will be downtown its usually cooler by the lakefront than the suburbs!
