BCBS OF ILL

They are really a joke when it comes to trying to get approve for WLS i have done all 12 months and the claim that i have only done 2 so the lady was looking up my records and she found records all the way back from July 26 2005 so now she said she will resend it back up to be review again. I have left it all in Gods hands so satin might as well get back. They think you will just go away and that is not the case with me. Has anyone else had a lot of trouble with them i know some on here have.

You need to be very persistant with these "bozo's". Don't leave it in God's or anyone's hands. You have to go after them if you want your approval. Good luck!

Hi Patty, Congrats on your upcoming surgery When you were doing your appeal process with BCBS, did you handle it yourself, or did you hire a lawyer to do the appeal? Mary

I appeal myself, but I did have the surgeon and my primary care working from their end, and I went above my Human Resource directors head (our HR rep from our office was a complete waste), and got the third party rep that admisitors our policy involved. She (third party rep) had even worked at BCBS and SHE understood my frustrations! If there is any assistance I can lend, please do not hesitate to contact me.

I had them and they stink....they never approved me even after I hired a lawyer.

God gave you a mouth to speak for yourself and also hands to dial the phone and call BCBS and stay on their tail until you get what is due you.

I have called BCBS and I can speak for myself. My doctors office suggested that I contact a lawyer for the appeal process. I think that they know what is needed to get through to BCBS. BCBS allows you two chances at a formal appeal and then it is closed. If obtaining legal help gets me approved, I will do it. It will be well worth the cost of legal help. Thanks!!
