After almost three years I am finally approved!!!

After battling BC/BS of IL PPO I finally got approved. My first visit with my Dr. about the surgery was Aug. 25, 2003 and finally have been approved and have a date. My date is Sept. 28 at Barnes Hospital with Dr. Eagon. I jumped trough a number of hoops to get here. I fought and appealed for a year with no success and then when they finally told me that I had to have a 12 month Dr. Supervised diet. I did that and now finally I have been approved. I guess sometimes good things happen to those who wait.

Yes I do. As a matter of fact I am part of a new football club for the Carrollton High School football and have been talking to Nick, Rodney, Brad and Jamie quite a bit.

Congratulations!! BCBS is an EVIL insurance company. You would think they were providing coverage for free instead of taking our premiums and then deny coverage for what we are entitled to. Best of luck with your surgery and you've given hope to many of us that are in a struggle with BCBS to get approved. Mary

I'm so happy for you! I know a little of how frustrating your long wait was (BCBS/IL played with me for a whole year), and I'm thrilled that your wait is over. Congrats Tom! I fought with them for a year and half and NEVER got anywhere with em!! I am excited that you finally are getting what you deserve! good luck!
