The Wish Center / Provena Mercy Hospital - NO LONGER PARTNERS!
I went to Dr. Rosen and Salvino and had major problems with my surgery with no support from them in checking out my complaints. I was told to go to the emergency room instead of calling the wish center. I had emergency surgery and my new Doctors still can't explain what they found regarding my anatomy post wish center. tried to sue but was to late. They were at Good Samirtian Hospitail at the time in Doweners grove and did not have the support of that hospital and staff so they moved to Mercy in Aurora. I am not all surprised that they are closing and I to had heard the "corporate excuse" I don't belive it at all. I am glad some of you had very good experiences but would think twice about a group that has moved due to lack of hosipital and staff support or complaints twice.
Hi Guys! I just talked to the office and they said that they will be having clinin****il Oct 13th. Dr. Rosen is going to let everyone know where he will be. Sounds like the intent is not to leave the current patients hanging. I love Dr. Rosen and Dr. Iwaniki. I am down almost 40 pounds and love the support they give me.
This is not good. I am only 3 months out and would really like to stick with the program that is working for me!

I actually have an appointment for a lap band fill this afternoon. I called to confirm this morning and everything seemed like business as usual. I'll ask while I'm out there and see if any more information is available.
I really like both Dr. Rosen and Dr. Iwanicki. My hope is that if Wish is indeed closing that they will be joining another group of Doctors or starting their own WLS group.
I spoke with Dr. Iwanicki extensively on Thursday. It was Provena's decision to end the relationship. The hospital management has recently changed and they have determined that they no longer want to house a WLS center there. They weren't doing nearly as many surgeries as they once did- largely because many insurance companies now won't cover WLS. It sounds like it was a business decision on the part of Provena.
As of now, Wish will be at Provena through the 13th of October as noted above. They are actively looking for a new location (in Chicagland) and both Doctors want to continue doing WLS. They have lists of all of thier 1800 surgery patients and will be following through with emails and letters once the new location is established.
I will be there on Tuesday and our support group is meeting on Thursday night. Dr. Rosen will be there for a Q&A after the dietitian gives her presentation. Both docs have privleges at other hospitals. i am confident that they won't leave us in a bind.
I had a note from Christina saying that we will have support group at least through the end of the year. It sounds as if we are going to need a support group for reasons other than we thought.
