Hi, Im very new here

I am very interested in having the Lap Band surgery done, and would like to talk to someone that has already been thru the surgery. I am just beginning the journey and I am really scared, but know that I NEED to have this done. I would appreciate replys from anyone that has been thru the Lap Band surgery, and can tell me more about it, and their results so far...... Thanks... Barbee

Hey Barb ... welcome to the Illinois board!! It's a bit slow here at times, so you might want to check out the lap band board for specifics on that particular surgery ... but I think there is another person that checks in here from your neck of the woods as well ... Good luck! Karyn

Hi! Barb, glad you join the forum.....I had open so I can't help you much but, I will do some research thur the forums to see if anyone experience the lap.....I have a friend who had it done (lap) and he now is going for the open.....he said he would had done the open first but needed the lap to lose some of his weight (doctors suggestion) b4 they could do the open.and is very pleased.....welcome to the board Always, Cams*

Hey Barb, I had gastric by pass lap. but my doc os just beginning to do lap band. He is at Barnes-Jewish, if you want info, just let me know.
