My husband is one week post-op and he has horrible bad breath. Brushing his teeth frequently is not helping. Has anyone else had this problem. Any suggestions???

Sugar free breath mints or gum... that happens when we get into ketosis and with his lack of food its probably what is causing it. Tell him congrats on the surgery!!! Debby

A big bottle of Listerine and some sugar free mints. It's really quite normal though. Just got to live with it.

It will get better. Just be patient with him and dont make fun of him like mu hubby did to me. We are already wondering what the heck we have done to ourselves and we dont need criticism from our spouses.

Oh, don't worry I am being very supportive. I would never think of making fun of him. I believe he has done a very couragous thing not only for himself but for our entire family!! I truly believe he has given us the gift of life. Ten years from now he may not have been with us. Thanks so much for letting me know that this was normal. I had already gotten him some sugar free breath spray and some mouth wash and that seemed to make a lot of difference. I just wanted to make sure that this was some what normal.
