IL Barix closing it's doors?

My husbands surgery was set for next month now IL Barix is saying it is closing it's doors!! So now we have to find a new program? Has anyone been to a Barix outside of Illinois? I am wondering if we should just reshedule at one of their other clinics.???

I am going to guess that you are partial to Barix and I can understand that especially after WISH closed it's doors last year. My understanding is that Barix closed it's doors in TX also and I can see the writing on the walls with that. It is a real let down. I am not sure where you are located in IL but if you are in the west suburban Chgo area you might want to consider Dr Jeff Rosen or Dr Michael Iwanicki in Downers Grove. They are former surgeon's with WISH and now have a new practice in the former WISH offices. They are experienced bariatric surgeons. Their web site is www.lifeweighbariatrics.com Chris

I started my surgery with Barix, but due to insurance issues I had to move to Mercy in Harvard. I love them in Harvard just as much, check them out, they are great. Had surgery with Dr. Bryant, she is on leave for now and Dr. McClennen is taking care of her clients and she's just wondferul. By the way, I just read your profil, you are doing great and my starting weight/stats look like you and you are my new inspiration. good luck and drop me a line if you need more help.

are you talking about the clinic in belvidere? and if you are where are you going to go?

I too was scheduled with Dr. Boe. Dr. Rosen in Downer's Grove was willing to take me on. I have an appt there next week. He had great reviews and he was at the Wish Center before they closed shop.

Michele, I am glad that you were able to get an apt with Dr Rosen. You will really like him. He knows his stuff, has a great sense of humor and has fantastic follow-up from his side and his staff's side. keep all of us posted as to your progress. Chris

Pam, yes it is true that Barix is closing it's doors. I would highly recommend Drs Jeff Rosen or Michael Iwanicki as a follow up surgeon. Chris Bennett

Hi Pam, It's true. I met a lady in Dr. Frantzides waiting room who was supposed to have surgery at Barix and they called her the day before her surgery and told her they were closed! i felt so bad for her, but happy that she had found Dr. Frantzides. He did my surgery and I feel better than ever! I know that she will have the same experience and hope that you do too. Good luck, Ms. ABC
