the rug has been pulled out from under me!

so no i find out that i don't have a surgeon or a clinic to aim for......i really feel bad for the people that had a surury date how devisting!!! i am looking for a new clinic near rockford, probably mercy hospital would be good....do they do lapriscopic bypass? i need info on this new place! and where did Dr. Boe go?

I hear ya girl. I felt like it was a nightmare when they callled to tell me they were closing. Dr. Boe is doing one more week of surgery and then staying for a few months to follow surgery patients. He will be going to Pennsylvania is what they told me.

Mercy is a great place. I posted this in another message but I started with Dr. Boe but had to switch due to insurnace coverage and moved to Mercy in Harvard. My surgery was done by Dr. Bryant but she is on leave for now (not sure why) and all my after care is done by Dr. McClellan. I couldn't be happy with her. And yes they do lap bypass, they do everything Bartix does. The only difference is you have to drive a little. I loved all doctors. My hospital experience was great. No regrets. Wish I would lose a little faster, but then again I want everything right now. Hang in there and drop me a line if you want to chat more. Really you won't be disappointed.

Tell me about it. I was there today to see Dr. Boe! After he checked my incision where my gallbladder was removed, he then dropped the bomb. I was smiling when I left , but then when I got on the road for my 3 hour journey home, I got lost. I missed the 39 exit and found my self later on 20 west. Well It took 4.5 hours to get home. I have to find a new dr. also. I called our local place where this is done explained things and she said I'd have to start from suare one. The do things different. Life sucks! I refuse to start from the beginning again so I'm looking for a new Dr. But Dr Boe will be hard to replace!

Where in IL are you located? Let me know I have some suggestions for you. Chris

I don't know where in IL you are located, but I went to the UW in Madison, WI and I can't even BEGIN to tell you how great they are! Drs. Garren & Gould truly ROCK!!! I chose them after checking with Barix first. I feel like they care about my HEALTH, not my checkbook. They are an hour and a half drive for me, but worth every bit of it. My husband says that now that we know aobut the UW, we will never go anywhere else for medical care (for the whole family). Hi, I am sorry to hear about your experience. I can only imagine how devastating it must be. I had surgery with Dr. Frantzides and I love him! He's in Skokie. I don't know how far that is from you, but even if I lived out of state I would make the trip for him. He's that good! good luck, Ms. ABC
