I am SO mad. I was going to siu in Springfield IL and I was there since 2004. I didn't have an appointment with the surgeon until April 27th 2007. When I started they said 6-12 months that's 3 years!! So I stop going there and I go to university of Chicago. They tell me at the informational it is 4-6 months till you have the evaluation with the Dr's. I called in November and a lady told me I was half way there. well it has been 6 months and I call them. They call me back and say I am still pretty far down on the list and not to call them they will call me when I get an appointment. UGGGH I feel like I am never going to have this surgery. over 3 years and not even one step closer to living. As I wait my health is deteriorating. I feel defeated.

Have you tried Dr. Eagon and Halpin's office in St. Louis? I know there is a wait but I think they are now taking medicaid patients. You might want to look into that. I know before Dr Eagon was super booked but now that he has brought on Dr. Halpin they are not quite as busy. Shelley

Hi Deelight... I don't have any idea if Medicaid is accepted, but have you tried the Illinois Bariatric Center in Clinton , Illinois?. The docs are Dr. Rohrsheib and Dr. Telle. Good Luck Vickie
