Carle Hospital

Has anyone had any experience with WLS and Carle Hospital in Urbana? I meet with my primary care physician today to discuss my options for WLS.

Hi Kristy, I am scheduled for lap-band on Feb 14, 2006. My friend had her by-pass done there and loved it.

Hi Kristy. I do not have experience with Carle Hospital yet. My surgery (lap band) is scheduled in two weeks (1/31). I am from the C-U area but my surgeon is in Clinton (Dr. Rohrschieb). Good luck and I'll let you know what I think about Carle in a couple of weeks.

Dr R. is an excellent surgeon. I dont know about having bypass at Carle, friends of my family have had regular surgery at carle and everything works out great so hopefully the lapband will be successful as well.

My husband had his gastric bypass at Carle on Dec. 6th. It was a wonderful experience. They just opened a new wing for bypass patients. It is beautiful. They were very helpful. We are from Charleston. And it was well worth the hour drive to and from. Don't hesitate to ask if you have more specific questions.

I had my surgery with Dr. Oliphant & it'll be 2 yrs this April. He is a wonderful surgeon and Carle Hospital is a wonderful hospital. Its one of the best hospitals I've been to. they are all so friendly and helpful. Good Luck on your journey! ~Lora

I had my open VBG revision to a RNY at Carle with Dr. Rohrscheib Dec. 28, 2006. My stay from start to finish was great. I was treated with great respect and care. The room was huge and private. The hallways were empty when I needed to walk. The staff seemed to understand what I needed before I did. It was all good! Kristina
