vitamins?
hey Pat ... congrats on taking the first step ... realizing the need to get back on track. There are plenty of us who have experienced the same thing, I might recommend you check out the WLS Grads forum on this site (for those 1+ years post-op) ... as many are struggling to get back on track as well.
How have your labs been? That might drive some of your vitamin intake ... my program prescribes pre-natal vitamins for all post-ops. We also need calcium citrate, sublingual B12. Opinions differ on amounts, and I'm no expert on this, but you might want to try http://www.vitalady.com ... Michelle and her husband had gastric bypass surgery several years ago, and are very knowledgeable in this area.
I realized too, that this is going to be a lifelong struggle for me ... surgery just gave us a jump-start, and I guess we get a little spoiled by the honeymoon period, and sometimes don't realize its still going to take a lot of work. Well, just know that you are not alone, and hopefully we'll all find the encouragement and motivation to get to where we want/need to be!
Hang in there!

I've been taking the Optisource Multi since surgery. They are specifically for post Bariatric patiens and are chewable. I did have to add an iron supplement, but my levels of everything else has been just great.
You can order it from www.walgreens.com and shipping is free.
I had RNY 4/04. In the last 4 months, I've gained 10 lbs back but have gotten myself back on track and am working out 4-6 days a week.
As for vitamins, here's what I take.
Members Mark Mature Multi (Centrum Silver without Iron equivalent bought at Sam's Club) - 1 am, 1 pm
Calcium Citrate w/ Magnesium and Vitamin D (Vitacost.com) - 3 a day, 2 am, 1 pm
Sublingual Vit B-12 2500mcg - 1 am
Gentle Iron (Wal-Mart) 2 in early pm (4 hours after am vits/4 hours before pm vits)
Vitamin C (Sam's Club) 1000mg taken w/ Iron
The reason I get the Centrum Silver equivalent is because it doesn't have iron in it like the regular Centrum does. They both have calcium and calcium blocks the absorption of Iron, so why take the regular one if it's not going to work for me? Unfortunately, it's calcium carbonate which we can't absorb well, so I take a separate Citrate vitamin to get my calcium.
I've had no problems with my labs at all.
