Illinois Medicaid

Hello! I was wondering if anybody knows of any surgeons in Illinois that accept Medicaid for Lap Band. I am having a terrible time finding one!! Thanks to anyone who can help! Dawn

Hi Dawn, i highly recommend Dr. Frantzides in Skokie. He did my laparoscopic gastric bypass, but I know that he does lap bands, too. He doesn't accept medicaid but he gives a pretty big discount to medicaid patients. He operates out of evanston hospital and they do take medicaid so the only fees you would have to pay would be the doctor fees. I hope this helps! Best of luck, Marsh

university of chicago does but you will have a wait! They say 4-6 months but I have waited 6 months and I am still not even half way up the list.then again anywhere that accepts medicaid has a huge wait. I was in springfield for 2 years and my appointment is still not till april 27th( but I stopped there)

hi im in the same boat as you are but i did find a doctor in chicago Dr. Alexander Nagle accepts the medical card, but you have to do your approval appointments at northwestern, and they dont take the medical card but they have a financial paper you can fill out to see if you qualify and they could cover up to 100% or if you want to wait until july Dr. Sarker will be taking new patients at loyola medical center or theres dr denhram in evanston il but he dont have any openings until next may no matter what you do your gonna have a wait. heather
