LOOKING FOR SUPPORT GROUP

Hi..I haven't been on this website in a VERY LONG TIME.... I had gastric bypass surgery Nov. 04....the battle to keep the weight off gets harder every day. I am looking for a support group in the area or maybe will just start one of my own. Anybody interested? I was going to do this once before thru OH but..the training is very long and involved and I really don't want anything that is so formal and rigid. Just looking for others that are fighting this battle on a daily basis....so, we can help each other. I emailed a gal in Schaumburg and a guy in Arlington Heights..both are listed under the support groups for this area. Hopefully, I will hear from one of them. Hi Kristi, Are you looking for a professional support group? Don't they have one where you had your bypass? Or are you looking for just friends to talk to who are going through the same things you are. I live in Orland Park. I'm willing to be in your support group. I hope your surgery went well! I had my surgery of UIC in November. It is a hike for the support meetings, so a few of us are going to start a group in Mokena. We are hoping to meet Feb 20, if you are up to it! Hi Christina...thanks for the info and invite...that's a bit of a drive for me.

I guess it all depends on how bad you need/want a meeting. We have people that drive from Indiana to be a part of the meeting. Hope you can find a support group closer to you. Christina

Hi Kristi Good to see you. I have been trying to get invovled in a support group as well. We have one started but it hasn't been well attended as yet. We are using meetup.com. I will look up the link and send it to you. The next meeting is set for February 15th at the Omega Resurant in Des Plaines...that's right on Golf Road at 7:00 p.m.. Hi Ronna.... I see that you are also a patient of Dr. Guske's...that's who I see now also. The Dr. that did my surgery left the group. If I stay in Schaumburg and go to the meeting it might work out ok...If I drive all the way back home to Elgin though..that would be quite a hike... Thanks Kristi
