Cara, I do not have the answers for you as to your elegibility for a revision but I will invite you to come on out to a free seminar this coming Saturday at my doctor's office in Downers Grove. One of the doctors will be in attendance and could answer some of your questions. If he cannot then Barbie or Gail may be able to shed some light on the insurance part of your equation. Life Weigh Bariatrics has an ad in the lower left corner of this page. Also their number is 630 261 9393. The seminar is from 10am to 1130. I will be there if you would like someone to introduce you to the staff. If this coming Saturday is not good for you then look at the list of the seminars that are in the future and maybe we can meet on another day. Chris

I don't think I will be able to make it this saturday, but I will let you know when I can. I did go to one seminar in Downers Grove, but it was 100% out of network for insurance. What hospital does the surgery? My surgeon retired a few months after my surgery, and his son took his patients. Well, I don't feel that my concerns were an issue with the son, since I wasn't orignally his patient......I really would like to find a new doctor that can do an endoscope. I was diagnosed 2 weeks ago with gastritis and the doctor in the er said that I may have some corrosion in the stomach and esphogus. I would like to have the endoscope to see about the corrosion but also check the pouch size and the opening.

Cara, I understand on you not being able to make it tomorrow. We will try some other time if you would like. Just PM me and let me know. I looked at your profile and saw that the Kane Group did your surgery. Have you been back to see Kane Jr? He really is a caring individual. They want to have success stories and they also want to follow and help the ones that may have problems. I encourage you to try and get an appointment with Jr. They have a banner ad that is at the top of the IL board. It links you to their web site. You can get their phone numbers there. You can also go to another one of their seminars if you would like. They meet in a different place now. I can fill you in on that also. My husband had his surgery with Dr Rantis. Both of us speak on occasion at their pre surg seminars. Chris

Hi Cara, I had my surgery with Dr. Frantzides. His office is in Skokie and he does surgery at Evanston hospital. He doesn't have any seminars coming up, but I encourage you to call his office. He does all laparoscopic surgery--nothing open. I'm positive that he can guarantee you a completely laparoscopic revision. He's also an expert in esophagus diseases. If you come to see him, he will give you a packet with all of his publications and expertise on the subject. I was just in for my check up a few weeks ago and met this girl in the waiting room who had just had a revision laparoscopically and she was very happy. I don't know if she posts on here, but if you go to his forum, you may be able to find her or someone else who had a laparoscopic revision with him. I hope this helps. Sincerely, Marsh

Hi Cara.. I dont have any information for you other than start looking for the surgeon, and see what can be done from there.. I am starting the revision process myself, my surgeon is submitting my stuff next week. Now the reason I am having a revision is because he has to go in to repair the hiatal hernia I have developed, and he's going to do a slight revision to my pouch while he's in there.. I started out at 325 and am at 200 I havent gained any weight just didnt get down as far as I should have.. and believe me I have always been a very good post-op. They recently found while doing tests for my hernia that my pouch was to big, and probably to big to begin with, although some of it is attributed to being 2 years out..but the surgeon feels that is why the hernia was able to return so easily. MY insurance pays for the hernia repair. They might not cover the revision part. If not we will pay out of pocket for that part of the surgery. Good luck to you... Debby
