Post op 1 yr lapRNY- After eating some fried foods, I know I shouldn't but did, I developed " near death " feeling pain in my left upper quadrant. It was pulling , sharp, felt like twisted bowel. I could not breathe deeply, move, or talk. I had never been in so much pain. I called my doctor and he believes it could have been dumping syndrome brought on by eating the fried chicken. This severe pain lasted about 1 hr. Now 4 hrs later, it feels like someone kicked me in my tummy, same spot. The pain is still there but NOTHING like I experienced earlier. Now it is more of a dull pain. I will try to flush the bad stuff out with water. Does anyone know anything else about this? Please reply. Thanks, Dawn

Dawn, Did you have your gallbladder out? I had a really bad pain like that with my gallbladder, it would start when you ate some type of fatty foods and takes a while to subside, it is a horrible feeling. If you didn't have it out, I would have it checked. Hope you feel better!! Yvonne

Yes!!! The pain is much like when I had my GB. However it is on my left side. Now it is just a dull achey pain. I am able to keep food down, so I don't think it is an obstruction. Thanks for your reply.
