Dr Frantzides- who is the best bariatric dr and program in Northwest Area

Hi Elizabeth, I had surgery with Dr. Frantzides about 6 months ago and I have Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO insurance. They are the most horrible company I have ever dealt with in my life. All my life, as I'm sure you have too, I have been dieting and exercising and I lost some weight, but always gained it back and then some. Blue Cross Blue Shield is obviously using "red tape" to discourage people from getting approved. They require 6 consecutive months of doctor supervised weight loss efforts and even though i had them, they still denied me. Dr. Frantzides' office helped me fight them every day until they finally gave it to me. He and his office were very helpful throughout the entire process and there wasn't a single time that I called the office and they didn't return my call quickly. Cynthia, the insurance person for Dr. Frantzides office, keeps track over every single thing that goes on with the insurance so that when Blue Cross tries to lie to your face, she can call them on it. Lesley, his PA has been a lot of help to me, as well as his fellow Dr. Jones, in terms of setting up all my pre-op testing and helping me stay on track with my follow-ups. I've noticed that a person on here, who also has Blue Cross, said she felt pressured to pay upfront. I have to say that I did not have that experience at all. I never felt pressured to make a decision on the spot. On the other hand, Dr. Frantzides gave me all of my options, including not having surgery at all if I chose not to. It was absolutely my decision. A tentative date was given to me just so that the insurance process could be started. I never felt like I couldn't change my mind. In fact, we had to change the date several times because the insurance took so long to come through. I feel very confident in my decision with Dr. Frantzides and, as I said in my testimonial, your life is at stake and you need to make the best decision possible by researching all of your options and making sure that your doctor can guarantee you a laparoscopic surgery. I wouldn't have it any other way. And if I had to travel to another continent to find the best possible doctor, I would have done that. Luckily he was only in the next state over!
