Hello Illinois

Hello from Ohio. I am originally from Deerfield and my mom lives in Round Lake. Would love to chat with someone from the area. I had WLS on 11/8/06 and have lost about 55 pounds. I had a stricture and it has been taken care of. Hope I don't get another one. Only time will tell.

Hello back at ya. Your mom lives up by my sister who is in Fox Lake and I have nieces and nephews that are in Ingleside, Fox Lake and Round Lake. I am a little further south near Woodfield and about 5 miles west of O'Hare (as the crow flys). I hope that you do not get another stricture also. My sister who lives in southern IN had one at about one month out and has not had any problems since then. You take care. We had some nasty weather yesterday, freezing rain and snow at the same time with lighten. So, that is on its way to you, hopefully it will not be too bad. Chris

My mom used to have a store in Arlington Heights and I have been to Woodfield Mall several times. We went to Texas De Brazil at Christmas. My husband, who is a pretty big guy, was even full after that trip. We went for lunch and since it is a buffet, I told them that I had had gastric bypass surgery and they were able to give me a reduced rate. I still didn't eat $10 worth of food, but it was a fun trip. Maybe we can chat the next time I am out to IL.

Where is Texas De Brazil? There are so many restaurants in this area that you cannot keep up with the newer ones coming in. Maybe somewhere down the line we can meet up. Chris

Texas De Brazil is at Woodfield Mall. I don't remember where or what it is in between though. It is a Brazilian Texas steak house. A lot of money for a lot of food. I was able to get a half price discount, which was still $10. I definitely did not eat $10 worth of food. I was only about 1 1/2 months out of surgery and hadn't been released to all foods yet, so the salad bar was not something I could have and I only had a few bites of meat. It is a neat place to go to though and I would go back again. My husband loved it.
