Can you all shed some light on how long Post Surgery my stay will be in the Hospital? I was under the impression I would maybe be able to go Home that day? Am I dreaming here? And maybe a few of you would be able to tell me what I can expect as far as {{{Pain}}} goes? And what the Doctor usually gives you for pain, if any? Thanks Rocko~~

My doctor here in IL when he does lap band sends people home the same day. I cannot tell you anything about meds, sorry. Chris

A lot will be depending on what type of surgery you had. I was in for 2 nights with laporoscopic RNY. Pain was a bit tough the first 2 days, but once I got home I never took another pain med. In the hospital they had me on morphine pump for 24 hours and then vicodin. They gave me a script for vicodin when discharged, but I didn't need it. My surgery was on Monday, I was helping my daughter with Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday, and shovelling snow on Friday! While everyone is different, I think the first day or two is the worst for most people. Good luck! Sandy

More like stupid... I have two 20something sons living here, but my husband is disabled. Do you think the lazy kids could have done it?? anyway, don't tell my surgeon! Sandy

Hi Shar. How are you doing? I am home from plastic surgery and feeling well. My arms look so awesome. My plastic surgeon did a fantastic job. I can't wait for the swelling to go down. Hopefully by the next support meeting, I will look even better. No more bat wings! It is so great. Good to see you on the boards. Lucy

Hi Lucy, I am so happy for you that you have come through your surgery. I look forward to seeing you you at the meeting. I love these boards,,,,,I think it is my new addiction.. Do you belong to freecycle? I think I got a coat from you. Take care and rest up. Shar

Hi Shar. I don't belong to freecycle. I did give away all of my clothes. They could turn up anywhere! I am getting a lot of rest since I am going back to work on Monday. I will only be putting in 5 hours a day the first week. I would have taken more time off if I had it. I used a lot of time last year with my surgeries and vacations. See you soon. Lucy

I had lap band surgery 3/5/07 and I stayed overnight and went home the next afternoon. I did have quite a bit of pain for the first few days, my doctor gave me liquid Tylenol with Codeine for pain. Today I have very little pain, just some mild discomfort. Hardest thing for me was getting in and out of bed. I like to sleep on my side and I am still not able to do that yet. Good luck to you.
