LIQUID DIET

HELLO EVERYONE I HAVE A QUICK QUESTION. I FORGOT TO ASK THE DR. WHEN I WENT ON FRIDAY. HOW SOON BEFORE SURGERY DOES A PERSON HAVE TO GO ON THE CLEAR LIQUID DIET ? IVE HEARD 24 HRS, 2 DAYS,IVE EVEN HEARD 7 DAYS. I CANT FIND THIS INFO IN ANY OF MY PAPER WORK FROM THE DR. OR THE NUTRITIONIST. AND I AM CURIOUS. AND I KNOW MY ANGELS HAVE THE ANSWERS.

I had lap-band and was put on liquids for 10 days before surgery.

I only need to be on liquids for 2 days

I had 24 hours. It really varies by doctor, if I was you I would call his office and ask his nurse what their policy is. Good luck!

You're going to find alot of different answers beacause every doctor has their own protocol. I think I was on clear liquid (no milk products) for one week and then full liquids for one more week then on to pureed food. Sending hugs, Ronna

Hi Pateisha ... you're going to have to call your doc's office on that one ... like a few people have said, it differs depending on the doc. For me, I was told to just eat a light dinner the day before (and not after 6pm) ... no liquid diet, no bowel prep. Best to ya girl! Karyn

it depends on your doctor. I am on it now. I had to be on for 10 days

Each doctor has a different protocol. They will let you know what they expect in time for you to prepare. You are going to have some exciting times. YOu are o your way jeannine
