Failed lapband?

I'm starting to think maybe the band was the wrong choice for me. I had lots of problems with fills, and now I just keep sabotaging myself and have managed to gain back the majority of my weight lost. Has anyone here ever had a revison from lapband, and can recommend a surgeon? I have public aid, so it makes it even more difficult to find a revision surgeon. Do they even cover revisions? My BMI is above 40 again... My lapband surgeon only does lapband so that's not even an option. This really stinks. Amanda

Amanda, what you really need to do is get in contact with your doctor and go back in to be evaluated as to why you are not loosing and have started gaining again. I am not discounting the fact that you may are sabotaging yourself but there may be a mechanical problem that is beyond your control and you need medical intervention. Say for instance you have a leak in your band or what you really need is a fill. Sweetie, there is hope. The band is a really good form of help for weight loss. Try not to give up hope. can you afford about 8000 dollars I know your probably thinking I am crazy but my surgeon doesn't take medicaid but the hospital does so you only have to pay his fee. now I don't know if it is more for a revision that's why I rounded up. I went through care credit and now i will have another payment but my health needed this now not in a year + with all the other medicaid accepted places. You may want to see your surgeon again and see what he says. maybe a fill would help or maybe the lap band eroded which happens. keep us updated and good luck with which ever route you choose
