self-pay LAP-band

Since my insurance is requiring at least a year long medically managed weight loss program, I am considering self-pay. I am looking into LAP-band. If you paid for Lap-band - How much did it cost you? and Where did you go or who did you use? I have contacted a few places and am getting figures from $15,000 - $30,000. I went to Riverside Hopital in Kankakee. Dr. Dong Kim is my hero. He is so compassionate and really good. He takes his time with you. I was a self pay and it was 14300.00 this includes you staying overnight, but i didn't have too. It includes a year worth of fills. You can call Riverside and ask for Bev in Bariatrics she is the best and will help you coordinate.

Hello, I was self-pay at Day One Health in Chicago on 2-1-07. The cost was $15,995 and that included everything even fills for the 1st year. I also received the small port. They are very nice and helpful. I am very happy with the band. Let me know if you have any other question. Good Luck

Hi Theresa, I had a RNY with Dr. Frantzides, but I know he does lap band, too and I read on one of these posts that he gives discounts to self-pay patients. Give his office a call and see what the price is. He is a fantastic doctor and I highly recommend him. Maria
