home from the hospital, need advice please
Glad to be home, my RNY was a success, had to stay an extra day, lost alot of blood during and after the surgery. I am on iron pills now, and mixing benefiber in with my protein so I don't get constipated. I was able to eat a soft scrambled egg today, and a lil bit of sugar free natural applesauce. Trying to get myself on a schedule is the tough part. When to eat, and when to drink, what to eat, and what to drink. Any suggestions? I do not want to become dehydrated. I know I am not supposed to drink water w my meals, and I feel full all the time, how do I really know when I should eat? Any help is appreciated. Kathy V.
I have been told sip sip sip sip sip keep a bottle of water with you and sip all the time except when you eat or the food will wash out faster making you hungry more? I think. just make sure you get enough protien and sip your water and take your vitamins did your surgeon give you a list or anythign? Mine gave me a list with a idea way to do it good luck to you on your continued success!!! I go monday for my rny!
Kathy, relax...your body has gone thru such an ordeal....don't worry...just drink as much as you can...sips only...and start on your protein....mostly don't worry....rest rest rest.....God will give you what you need. Always keep something to drink where you are, and try to eat a little every two hours. That worked for me...don't get frustrated if you don't get it all in.....i am five months out and still don't get all my water in..protein is the most important. always work on that first. good luck! God bless you.
