Good Sunday Morning IL

Hope you have been enjoying the good weather and are ticking things off of your lists of things to do. We travel back in a few hours from IN. We really have had a relaxing time. Yesterday we did a lot of walking and window shopping. I really did not find anything that I HAD to have. I have in the past gotten a lot of cute decorating things for the house and really do not need anymore. Besides you have to dust all that when you have it. We mostly bought cheese, shaved meats, popcorn and dried noodles. They are known for their homemade noodles here. Those packages of noodles will last us for close to a year. You make up a little bit of chicken broth and serve them as a sidedish. They are good to have as a small treat every once in a while. Need to get going here. Take care. Chris

Good morning Chris and everyone here on the IL board! O my, I had a very busy day yesterday. It was my sister's birthday and I spent most of the day at her house. First, I was up early as I went to my weigh****chers meeting. Before that, earlier in the morning I baked a pineapple upside down cake to take to her house. Had all the ingredients but low and behold, I was out of baking powder. So I had to quickly dress and go to the store for some! My sister had company coming, my Mom, stepdad and aunt from Austria. My sister has arthritis in the most worst way and can't move very well. She was quite upset and crying yesterday. I went over there and helped out with all the fixings and mixings for the lunch. Setting up platters of shrimp, lunchmeats and cheese, condiments, cutting up breads, cutting up tomatoes and cucumbers, etc. I set the table also. After lunch my aunt and I put things away. Then I set the table for desserts and coffee. By the end of the late afternoon, I was pooped. Got home around 7 and chilled out! I felt so bad for my sister. I wish there was something I could do for her to allleviate her pain so she would be more mobile. She's been to so many docs and no one has helped her. She feels so miserable all of the time. Of course, that gets me down as well. I would love to treat her to a vacation, location of her choice. I was so tired last night so I slept longer today. Not much in plans for me.. I do have some wash to do and cleaning the house. On a positive note, I will be going to a work-related seminar on Thursday and Friday this week. I haven't seen these people since 2002, so they will not recognize me. YAY, that will be fun! I am taking an extra trip this year, going to Las Vegas on June 20th for 4 days and 3 nights! I've been getting mail for free slot tournaments with free accommodations. I feel like I need a vacation and decided to go. I'll be staying at the Rio. I love that place and when I was in Las Vegas in January, I decided that if and when I go back to Vegas, I wanted to stay at the Rio. Now, I have something to look forward to. Now that I talked your ears off I hope everyone has a wonderful and restful Sunday. The weather couldn't be better. I love it! Hugs, Lucy

Sorry for the late response. Man you had a busy day and you deserved to sleep in late. That sounds like fun for the trip to Vegas in June. What is the weather like there at the early part of summer? Chris

Good morning everyone, My Sunday is starting off with a bit of a soft boiled egg. heaven on Earth. Hopefully, my big accomplishment today will be to drive. I was not given the go ahead yet but I think I am ready for it. So, if you guys hear any big bumps coming from the northern suburbs,that would be me! I hope everyone has a good day Shar

Sorry for the late response. How was the drive? I always waited because I sometimes had a hard time turning my body while driving. That is just me. How was the soft boiled egg? I can still recall how it felt like heaven when I first started eating again. I never thought that food could taste so good. Chris

The egg eas fabulous......it took me an hour to eat it. The drive was scary, but OK. I am not sure if the pain I had all day and night was from the drive but I was so uncomfortable. Pain all over the left side of my belly. Last night I could not find a place that made me feel OK. A little tylenol, a few tears, a heating pad, and lots of moaning.........and I got through the night. I sure hope today is a better one.
