Good Morning

How are you all doing today? We have a chance of showers here in Chgo up until about noon then the sun is supposed to peak out. I was going to start riding my bike to work again but I guess it can wait. What do you have planned for the week, anything exciting? Not much on the agenda for me. For me I need to unpack from the weekend. I was totally lazy yesterday when we got home. My great great niece who lives down the street turned 7 so we walked down there for her kid's party. They had a magician who was really good with the kids; the adults and kids really enjoyed him. I will put up a reminder post for the get together later in the week and then another one next week. There might still be some that have not seen the original post and will want to come. have a great day. Chris

Trying to get the rest of my spring cleaning done. I live in a big 8 room farm house so I take one room at a time. If it needs painting it gets it at this time of year too. It is also helping to keep my mind off of the bad snacks. I have even lost some weight. Not alot but some.One pound at a time is getting me closer to my small goals. Hi Chris. I'm back at work today. I did get a lot of sleep in yesterday after a very busy Saturday. The temp in Vegas in June will probably be in the high 80's at least. I love it warm so that will be good for me. I'm looking forward to our get together in less than 2 weeks. YAY! I'm sipping on my morning coffee catching up on the posts here on OH. I have a sick furbaby and just feel so helpless. She's at the vet and had to stay overnight. I'm so sad for her. We still don't know what is going on. I'm waiting for some lab work to come back this afternoon. It all started while we were in Galena. Our neighbor was dog sitting and left a note on Tuesday that when we got in please call her. Missy had a sore paw. Well, it was twice the size and you could tell she was in pain. So we dropped out bags and rushed to the vet. They x-rayed and nothing was broke. They thought she had twisted her nail real bad and got some kind of infection behind the nail. They sent her home w/ two different meds and told us to come back on Friday. The swelling was going down but she was not herself and tried not to use that paw. By Friday she was not eating at all and vomiting bile. I took her back to the vet on Friday, swelling was down some and they changed her meds. On Saturday morning she still was not eating and seemed very lethargic so we took her back again. They did more blood work, gave her fluids thru her skin and sent her home. Sunday AM vet called to see how she was doing, still not well so we made another trip This time they kept her over night. They gave her more meds and fluids but still not eating. Now they think she may have pancreiatis (sp?) Still waiting. I miss my babygirl. Please say a prayer that they figure out what is wrong w/ her. Thanks guys.. You know my furbabies are my kids. Christina

Christina, I hope she gets felling better! I will say a prayer for the BOTH of you! I really don't have to much going on this week. Just the same ole stuff. Carting the kids around everywhere! Today I took my daughter for her 5 year old check up and to get her kindergarden physical. She is growing up sooo fast! Tomorrow I go to my PCP for my 2nd month sup diet visit! After tomorrow, only 4 more to go! I am sooo ready to lose weight! My daughters soccer team was short a coach and if I was 90 lbs less, I would be able to coach! oh-well...next year for sure I will be a head coach!!! Hope all is well with everyone! Thank you so much Kim. DH and I just came back from the Vet and was able to visit w/ Missy for a short time. She just looks so sad and she's lost even more weight. Still not eating or drinking on her own. Pancreas test came back good. They started a barium study to check for any obstructions and noticed an area that is suspicious, we will know more tomorrow. I'll post an update tomorrow. Sounds like the kids are keeping you busy. I know you will be a head coach next year for sure! Those kids will not be able to keep up w/ you! How was the party on Saturday? I guess you survived. I bet it was a lot of fun. I look forward to meeting you too! Christina

pancreatitis - as a human I was one sick puppy, sorry for the pun in 1991. For me I let my gall bladder go too long. Is this your mama dog? I hope she is feeling better and makes a speeding recovery. Chris

Thanks Chris.. No, Missy is not a momma. She's my yellow lab. She was two in December. We are still trying to figure out what's wrong w/ her. I'll update tomorrow. Christina
