Help

I have a problem, my psyc eval and the psyc Dr. from the program I'm using are not in agreement on the test I need for the surgery. my psyc dr said he don't do a personality profile for open heart surgery and this man has been doing this for quite some time I know it is some professionals on the board please help me. I'm caught between a rock and a hard place and my insurance will not pay for the over kill. So the two Doctors are going to talk and see what happens from there. If any one has any suggestion please please share them. Audrey

I guess that I did not know that some have to go to two professionals for that portion of the process. Will your program director become involved and speak to one or both of them? Can you get your insurance involved in the process with a peer to peer conference? Those are the only suggestions that I have for you. Chris

I was getting done in my area because it was close and he is covered on my insurance but the program director had some guidelines for my psyc dr to follow. and he feel that it is to much and he has been working with program like New Start and Depaul for over 2 years and hasnever ran into such an extensive eval, and he question the neccessity of it, and I'm agree with him. but I thank you for the idea I will get the insurance involved that will make a difference. My psych eval was short and sweet. We talked about my weight and diet history and how I intended to handle the surgery. I did not take a personality test or any questionaires. The psychologist wrote up her report with her recommendation for surgery...and the insurance company accepted it.

Same here, Shar....went to Dr. Lee in Mt Vernon, Illinois and he ask a few ?'s and then dictate to me while he was writing ...he faxed it to ins co. and waaa laaa...it was accepted. Few weeks later I had my date.

I think a lot of the psychologists go overboard with what they do. I would think they need some regulation

've got no answers today the insurance company want one thing and the psycologist wants another, and the coordinator is of NO real help. Look like it will not be a surgery for me I don't have it any long. They have taken the fight out of the old lady. But tomorrow is another day Audrey
