my very first day on this site!!

Ok where do I begin...I must say first, that this is an awesome support system and I am glad to now be a part of it. I am 33 years old, 5'4" and weigh 253lbs...YUCK!! I am going in for my pre-surgery Lap-band consult with Dr. Nagle on the 23rd and just wondering what to expect. I am planning on having surgery at Nortwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago. If anyone is a patient of his or had it done at NWM (or not), I would love some insight. I am very excited but very nervous at the same time!!

Hello and welcome to the site. we have many wonderful people here full of support. The only problem with the site ive found is 2 things #1 its addicting #2 It gets me more excited and I find it hard to come here and read without getting impatient. LOL

Hi Amanda - Welcome to OH and congrats on taking the first step to a healthier you. This is a wonderful place to meet new friends, ask questions and get the needed support and give support. Each surgeon has there own way of doing a consultation. Mine lasted 4hrs and they actually did chest x-rays, ekg, blood pressure, did some reading, watch some training on the different procedures met w/ the dietician, the fitness advisor then the surgeon. I hope you get as thorough info as I did. Keep us updated on how things go. Christina
