Hello everyone, I had my sonsult today and it went great! I asked a lot of questions and the Dr. was very patient. I'm having a Psych eval on Monday. What should I expect? How long does this usually take. Also the Dr. told me that I needed to loose about 10 pounds before the procedure is that standard?

Ive heard many people say the doctors wanted them to lose a little right before surgery also. Im not sure why though. Whos your doctor? Im at the same stage you are now waiting for me eval. Good luck to you on it.

Hi Monica - Congrats on your upcoming surgery. It's so important to ask those questions and have a good comfort level w/ your surgeon. I'm glad you appointment went well. Each syc eval is a little different. Some are pretty quick, some are pretty thorough. Mine was very thorough.. I had three meeting w/ mine. First session was 1 hrs, I then went back and took a personality test of 1000 questions and then the last was a follow-up after the test came back. They want to make sure that you are able to deal w/ the major changes that are going to take place. As far as the weight goes..... I think most encourage a wl but I gained. Go figure. also it is to reduce the size of your liver makes it easy for the surgeon. I've got to do that through psyc eval so I'm not looking forward to it. Audrey
