Good Morning from central Illinois. Gonna be another beautiful day. There calling for 89 for a high and windy. I love this kinda weather. So what did everyone do over the weekend? I worked in the yard, then cleaned my house from top to bottom. I took a long walk, and lost 2 of the 4 pounds I had gained! My Mothers Day was perfect, quiet just the way I like it.My daughters called, my two grandsons called me their 4 and 5 and my son came over and helped me plant a tree, and lots of marigolds, but I was sad to have to dig up all my roses they were wiped out by the late spring freeze. I also lost my magnolia tree. So I'm planting annuals in there places this year till I decide what I want to replace them with. Well I do hope everyone had a great Mothers Day........ Karen

Hi Karen - Glad to hear you had a nice weekend and a really enjoyable Mothers Day. My weekend was consumed by yard work and shopping. Man oh man.. I'm going to get in big trouble if dh finds out how much I spent on perenials and other garden stuff. It was fun but it's lots of work & $$$. DH and I did go hit some golf balls yesterday early evening and then grilled out for dinner. It was very nice. I'm now working on a small pond in the front yard. I can't wait to see the end result! I'm so excited. I went to the foot doctor on Friday and was told again....... I need to have foot surgery on both feet. They can only do one at a time. He's been on me for two years and I've been blowing it off. Well, my feet are killing me and work is really sucking so I'm thinking 5 - 6 weeks off for recovery is sounding pretty good right now. Wow, it's pretty bad when you'll go under the knife just to get away from work. What scares me is no exercise for 6 weeks. I wonder what I could do besides lay in a hammok for six weeks! Hope everyone has a great day! Christina

Sorry to hear about your feet....I had (sp) heal spurs once on both feet and it was all I could do to walk...So if you stand on your feet alot through out the day I can imagine the pain by the end of it.... My mom has a fairly large Koi pond in her back yard, Its nice to sit out here and watch them...You know you can do chair exercises for the legs and upper body if you have this surgery.....Heck walking with crutches will be exercise! I had surgery on both knees 2 years ago and like you I was looking forward to the six weeks off work... since they did the 8 months apart I was able to get 2 vacations out of it...All in the coldest time of the year....I liked that since I drive a school bus and I hate the cold mornings...since my DH is a long haul truck driver I don't have to let him know how much my gardens really cost... I just cut back on my food bill...since I only have me and my 5 year old g-son to feed...he likes what I eat and since lap-band I have less food to buy!! Karen

I had a yard sale this weekend and that was about all I did. It was a sucess but I still have tons of kids clothing to get rid of. Hope you all had a great weekend too.

I ended up working at the hosptial all weekend. Boy were we busy. Celebrated Mother's Day with my Mom last Friday. She gave me one of those magic bullet blenders for Mother's Day. She figured it would come in especially handy for the pureed diet after surgery, not to mention for making protein smoothies. Hope everyone else had a wonderful weekend.

Hi Shelley - Question for you... Did you work on the bariatrics floor at Provena? I hope to meet you someday soon. How are things progressing w/ your surgery? Christina
