Ok everyone I am the one struggling with the 6 month supervised diet and exercise. I still don't get what I am doing wrong. I just can't get the scale to move. I am exercising 2 miles a day and yes it is at a medium to hard exertion. I am eating 1200 calories and sometimes less than that. I drink mainly water, diet soda on occasion, and sometimes I treat myself to a Propel. What am I doing wrong, why won't the scale move? I can't gain anything by my next weigh in as a matter of fact I "have" to lose. Anyone have any suggestions, ideas, I am getting so frustrated I am ready to throw the darn scale out the window. Please any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. TIA

I don't really have an answer. I just don't get why you have to lose weight in order to have weight loss surgery! If you could lose weight wouldn't you do it without rearanging your insides? I couldn't get the scale to move for me unless it was going up! I finally lost weight doing the bowl cleanse. humm maybe you should do a body cleanse? good luck to you dee

I'm sorry Renee.. This has to be enough to make you sick worrying if you're going to be able to lose the required amount. I gained from my first appointment to my surgery. I did not have to do the 6mo supervised diet. Thank God! I know people frown on this but the only success I had a few years back was doing Atkins.. Low Carb, High Protein diet. I lost 119lbs but then of course, gained it all back and more. Hang in there. Are you logging your food on fitday? Maybe that would help to make sure that you really are only getting in 1200 calories. Cut out the pop and caffeine. Caffeine is supposed to make you hungry. Christina

Usually on any diet you gain b4 losing...and water retintion has a gr8 deal to do with it...take water pills. this usually helped me...but always ask your doctor first b4 you take any advice from anyone...... and maybe a bowel cleanser may be the answer too! g'luck and ((hugs))

Are you losing inches? Sometimes you'll gain weight or remain the same because you are building muscle as you are losing fat. Muscle weighs more. I had a good friend that quit weigh****chers because she wasn't losing weight or she would gain a little weight and the leader was giving her a hard time about it. But at the same time she was losing inches and going down pant sizes. Maybe your body is doing the same thing. Might be worth monitoring.

Some one on here told me to do just that throw the scale out.....I was told I was stressing to much on what the scales said and not what my body was telling me....Have you noticed the clothing fitting different, your shoes not being as tight, or maybe just your bra not feeling as snug? Remember these are all signs that your body size is changing even if the scales don't go down......Good luck on the Dr weigh in...But try not to do it at home!!! I know thats hard because I too am addicted to my scales.... Karen
